Iloved dottie rambo what a song writer bill and gloria are great people very talented also have great singers i grew up watching them all i have wrote well over because of them and god gets all the glory for my songs im not a singer by no means i and my sister put a few of them on youtube hoping singers will contact me wanting to sing them great job all of you god bless.
This is my favorite version of the song...(although sometimes I wish they would sing the other verse)! I played the CD every morning for months while driving to class. My heart was broken and mended--comforted by the way Wes sang the story of a woman whose ruined, wasted life was given back...by the meeting at the well. THANK GOD for sending the Master with living water.
I have see just about all the versions that the GVB has done on this song. And each one I just know that Christ has been in it. So lets not argue about Gods perfection. All versions have touched someone individual to
The tight harmony in this song causes the melody to transition between the lead and tenor parts and sometimes when the Guy is singing harmony, his part is higher than the tenor melody Wes is singing. Guy is so unbelieveably talented though - there is no doubt he could sing all four parts with no problem. I miss him soooo much!
No, the tenor has the lead and the other parts are stacked underneath. Then in the middle of the 2nd chorus the Guy come up to lead and tenor goes on top.
GVB misses Guy Penrod. Saw them live, they are good, but English and Phelps are all power, they don't have the soft undertone in their voices that Guy does.
I agree that Guy carried a place in this group that came through time and time again, that sweet and precious undertone you mentioned, beautiful spirit.
Thanks for posting this song going to miss Guy and Marsh good luck with your solo careers this was the best Gaither Vocal Band that there was will never find another like it granted Micheal good but he'll never beat Guy in a singing competition!
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Not sure about a bass part, as Bill Gaither isn't a 'real' bass himself...

wes hampton is the tenor in this song.
he jumps to a higher harmony, but still Wes is doing the actual tenor part.
