Why would the bell he's under have a striker underneath and another on the side? What a shame that good bells like those are rung with strikers instead of swinging.

BTW, Star of the Sea refers to Mary guiding people to Christ by her prayers like mariners used the stars to find their way home. Also, the Angelus has no set number of strikes at the end. It can ring for as long as the timer is set for.

This what what made me a fan of this show - hands down the funniest television moment of the last few years, and yet it wasn't scripted or prearranged (no one would do this on purpose!) The only question I have is why the bell cleaners aren't wearing ear protection for this very eventuality (or at least incidents like Mike's "rookie mistake").

I just met Mike Rowe a couple of hours ago. He is a cool guy, He's in my town Mackinac Island doing a show about the Poop cleaners here (here there are no cars and horses and bicycles are the main mode of transport.) I met him at the bar and he is real personable.
