You need to tell your friends that it's wrong to say, "That's so gay" especially because it does bother you and it should. Just alter it slightly and reference gender or race or anything because it's demeaning. I had a friends daughter say once. My reply was That's awesome right that thing you called gay. Because you meant that thing is fun, cool and incredible right? She was taken a back and you could see the wheels in her head shift. Her parents told me she got it. Every water drop ripples out
Obviously it's ridiculous that we can't marry in all 50 states, but in time that will change as people of the older generations die off. They are the ones who are stuck in the past with their noses in the bible. The younger, more open-minded generation will flourish soon enough and things will change politically with time. It would be helpful if faggots didn't make us look bad in the meantime, though.
I'm gay and I use gay as a synonym for stupid. I even call other gay people faggots because I believe that there is a fine line between being gay and being a faggot. A faggot is a gay person who makes the rest of us normal gays look bad - the type who dress in drag, whore around, spread STDs. They are the reason we are looked down upon aside from the bible or whatever. Also, I feel that the ones who take things such as saying "that's gay" too seriously also make us look bad... Its not a big deal
@Cascaderade It is completely ignorant to say that people who dress in drag are anything like whores or people who intentionally spread STDs. The reason any gays are looked down upon is because ignorant jerks like to label us and put us down, NOT because dressing in drag or being flamboyant is in any way 'bad'. It ISN'T.
If you're as deprecating of gays as you say you are, I'd suggest some therapy because it seems to me there's more wrong with you than there is with any drag queen I've met.
This is a good rant...and is it such a sad shame that I sometimes even hear young kids saying 'that's so gay' or whatever else, so that the word has now become something which describes a bad/negative thing. Interesting also that 'gay' once described happiness and is now used in this context of subconscious homophobia. Language is rooted deeply in culture and such words currently reflect how misdirected our societies have become...
16 y/o & what an inspiration you are! I hope there are many more like you around, because the world need you. Regarding people saying the term ' oh that's so gay' etc. I don't think this is such a bad thing, because it's usually said with a smile in heart. The positive side to this - people are talking about it - getting more used to it as part of their own life. I think it's a mental exercise that's allowing straight people to adjust. When I was a lad just saying the word 'homosexual' was taboo
Its taken me nearly 15 mins to find appropriate words to say Youre spot on with the religious stigma of being gay, and its nt rite. Altho in UK we dont have such a strong connection with the Church, bein gay is still a problem for the maj. of the community which i live in Love is love at the end of the day regardles of what parties are involved. You have such a strong head on ur shoulders for someone so young i wish i had your strength at that age not sure i even have it now at 22. WELL DONE
You definitely opened my mind and eyes more to everything. I'm doing a final project on coming out and if it was okay with you, i would love to show parts of your video to the class. It changed me for the better and im hoping it could do the same for everyone else.
5/ ...cntnd..we colour it in our own unique way, as does anybody. What hurts me the most about the hate & discrimination is the fundamental lack of JUSTIFICATION. The bible isn't justification for undeserved intolerance, it is a text, a selection of, mostly, sound principles and wisdom, but it is not a valid excuse for a closed mind. I wish you all the best in your life, & to anybody like you. Be who you are, outside of the box, & maybe the world will learn. Apparently rants are contagious... :s
4/ ...cntnd...it's not as if there's a shortage of breeders in the world! And the only real hurt that can come of it is when your parents realise there won't be any grandchildren, but even then there are so many alternative routes for having kids for gay couples now than there ever were, plus the fact that straight couples choose not to have kids all the time and are not hated on anywhere near the same scale. Gay people have a place in this world, as do we all...cntnd...
3/ ...cntnd...so in their lack of tolerance and confusion they see it as useless, an irritant with no purpose. That girl at your work is cruel and unenlightened, and will probably be so for the rest of her life, along with so many others. It is simply too easy for them to make hurtful comments. When you actually think about it, a sin is essentially something that hurts another person without just cause. Who exactly do gay people hurt by loving who they want to love? NO-ONE....cntnd...
2/ ...cntnd...i genuinely believe that 'being gay' is so deeply rooted in who we are, that you couldn't not be gay without undoing the very fabric of who you are. In short, you'd become someone else. My thought on the bible is that people use the words in it to back up and justify opinions that they ALREADY HAVE. Or it appeals to the part of them that is inherently predisposed to homophobia. It's something i think, that a lot of people don't understand, and can't work out how it fits...cntnd...
1/ I hear you. The only choice involved with homosexuality is whether to live a lie and conform to a straight oriented or celibate half-life that society expects of you, or be who you are, and love who you love because it feels right and suffer an unjustified disapproval. There is no more choice involved than that. I suppose people think there is an element of control and therefore choice over our desires but you can only suppress something as fundamental as sexuality, not change it....cntnd
one thing I'm thankful for in this country is the fact that the patient now, not the doctors, can determine who can visit them and who can't.
Unfortunately I'm not sure how that would work if they are in a coma. But luckily that's rare.
Unfortunately though, there are still several things that need to be adressed.
For example, in state like Texas, gays can be refused service. Which is appauling because generally it's those refusing the service being disruptive about it and yet claiming
I watched all 3 parts. You look so alone in this but many many people have the same questins, including myself. I would not express myself just like you did and others would not express themselves like myself or you. It is a problem, for those who have a conscience toward God. I don't have a answer, but I understand just what you are saing.
I know someone who committed suicide a few days ago. He was gay but wasn't very open about it. I remember i was talking shit behind his back once to sound cool infront of my mates when i was in highschool and he heard about it. Its amazing how cruel we can be a young age without knowing it. I'm sorry you have to put up with idiots but please know that people are not very empathetic about this subject and they dn't know anythin about it. Find people who love you and stay with thm. Ignore the rest
Lol look at these people hitting in you!!! Nah but seriously well said. I couldn't have put it in a better way myself. I actually just came out of a church where I was judged and ridiculed for being me, because I was different to everyone else I was a threat. The shut needs to stop we are real, worthy people and we need equality!!!! Keep strong mate all will end well and you have a huge support base so we have your back!!
I wish you continued posting videos. You seem really cool and chillz and I'd love to have heard more about your story and your experiences and your views on other gay issues that have risen in the last 5 years since you posted this video !! Gays can marry now, buddy !! That's amazing, isn't it?!! I hope you're well and am kinda curious how your life has changed in the last 5 years. Good luck to you and keep smiling =)
Yeah, being bi or anything but straight sucks balls, eh? (no pun...well...yeah, pun intended.) I just pause and thank God with all my heart that He blessed me to be attracted to women. I've cried myself to sleep countless nights and have had suicidal thoughts, and I'm not even gay. I can't imagine what it would be like being 100% gay and not being able to feel the pleasure of being attracted to a beautiful woman. I admire you and all gays. It's such a battle to try to fit in every day...Good luk
Michael, your message is so honest and raw, that I actually became very emotional as you told of the experience with your co-worker’s degrading slurs about you being gay. You have the ability to touch people with your heartfelt words, which is an awesome ability. You could easily be an actor of incredible importance if you wanted to. In a way, you remind me of James Franco, one of the outstanding actors of our day.
All three clips are great. Much Love from Hollywood, Jeff xxx

you seem so diplomatic and kind here ...do the people know you come on other former gay mens sites and bash them...tell them they make you want to vomit ...dont sound like the same guy ...you got em fooled ...im sure youll delete this comment...your right though...no one chooses to be gay ...but we were not born that way...its a very deep psychological issue and lie...i pray you mature and see thru christ there is hope, i may still have gay thoughts but i lie everything i am in front of god now
@MegaGlitterbomb You have me mistaken with someone else and I don't appreciate you lying about me. I do not frequent gay sites, and if I did I would certainly never bash gays. Ever. Besides the fact that it's against my views, I have better and more intelligent things to do with my time.
@MegaGlitterbomb OMG, I can't believe you posted a negative comment here. You really do need help dude. You are way too needy. You are the one that needs to mature. This young man Michael is totally together and an amazing role-model. Go back to your own channel and leave good people alone. Strop seeking attention and grow up.
BTW, We are born gay (metaphorically speaking), then we blossom into the people we become, just like a flower. So simple, If you think about it.
@MegaGlitterbomb Meta-analysis of all available linkage data found no evidence between homosexual orientation and gene Xq28, and also no genetic heritability of sexual orientation^ Schwartz, G.; Kim, R.; Kolundzija, A.; Rieger, G.; Sanders, A. (2010). "Biodemographic and physical correlates of sexual orientation in men.". Archives of sexual behavior 39 (1): 93–109.
• 1. Research designed to prove that gays and lesbians are "born that way" has come up empty — there is no scientific evidence that being gay or lesbian is genetically determined” Matthew Brelis, "The Fading 'Gay Gene,'" The Boston Globe, March 20, 2002, p. C1.
@MegaGlitterbomb Actually this glittery bomby guy has helped keeperdude prove his point on how people, without reason, try to demean people just because they have different perspectives on life. I could very much discriminate someone of the opposite sex too, then, for they're not how I am - she is a GIRL while I'm a BOY, born different than me! I will keep hanging out with people who classify both a girl and a boy as HUMAN. Whoever's uncomfy with the same-sex hand I hold may go to hell.
WOW!!!! You are my new life role model. You are so smart, calm, and collected. I'm half way there :P And to think you were only 16 when you made these videos! How much you must have learned since then. Please make a video updating us on your life and what you have learned. You have inspired so many people. Have you made a difference in the community, yes you have, by posting these videos and showing us how we should handle tough situations. Btw I think Adam^ was talking about you :P
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually.Genesis 6:5
George Bush Sr: No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God.
That's just how separated church and state are in this country. Believe something else, and you shouldn't be a citizen. Who's to say hundreds of policies haven't been made based on religion?
Hi there i watched your video and i think you did a great job at explaining how you feel about being gay. im 21 and is also gay and feel the same way. so just wanted to say good job and do you have a boyfriend?;-)
Your two cents is priceless. I'm 51yrs old, an old geezer by gay standards, and never really "came out" publicly. You said what so many us have thought for years. Like you, I spent 20yrs in Catholic schools (1st - Master's Degree) and know the conflicting dogma, esp. the points about the Bible. Yet, I try to get past the conflict & look to God as the source of my strength and all that is good. I hope you have come to a similar place. Stay True, Stay Strong. It is what it is, you are more
Seeing someone like you, who isn't flambuoyant and is proud of who they are, makes me feel so much more comfortable with my sexuality. I've never met a gay guy other than myself before who acts like a normal man, who just happens to be attracted to men... So, thanks for putting yourself out there.
I'm glad that i came across this video. the hope he gave me is really something that i need right now. i am also 16 living in america. my boyfriend is in the marines. im suffering from severe depression knowing not only that my love could die, but what could happen to him if the rest of the marines found out he was gay. we both have to put up with homophobic bullshit all the time, and its hard that i dont even have him to comfort me. :/ i hope my suicidal thoughts dont get the best of me
I live in The netherlands and gaylife is over here pretty accepted. It's easy going. Straights are accepting us better every day. The Netherlands were one of the first in Europe that introduced Gay marriage.
Being openly gay in our militairy may bring you no problems at all. Last year the Army was even in uniform on the gaypride Canalparade in Amsterdam. You are living in the land of the free. But i guess that's only when you are straight. Greets M
@204330129 You are quite lucky, sir (ma'am?). While it's not exactly horrible over here and we are making improvements, there are still a lot of prejudices and ignorant people. I'm confident that will change with time, though.
@aoiahiru So what about hetero couples that don't want kids? Do you think they care if it's a 'waste of resources'? Speaking for myself as a gay person, I don't care either. Sex and offspring are linked in an evolutionary sense, but sex obviously takes place in all orientations without any thoughts about children.
@aoiahiru The satisfaction from drinking water is general; an orgasm is a specific feeling derived only at the culmination of sexual process, and can be gotten at any time (you only enjoy water when you're thirsty). My point was that the orgasm seems totally irrelevant to the actual action of getting a female pregnant. You could, in theory, do one without needing the other.
@aoiahiru Well, one thought would be that we (humans) are rapidly filling up this world and will soon overrun it with children. Would gays not, therefore, be the balance to the rabbit-like ways of the hetero? On another hand, you could ask whether sex actually is purely for the use of reproduction. Certainly there are some animals that experience it for joy. And why would it feel good at all if it had no other purpose? I think sex and reproduction are coincidentally combined, not intentionally.
Thanks for posting this series of vids...very helpful and convincing. I have some friends who continue to tell me that my being gay is a choice. Their logic does stem from the Bible. Rather than argue with them, I may just show them your vids. Cheers!
I agree with everything you've just said. I came across these videos randomly and I'm so happy that I did... It is refreshing to hear these positive words when we live in such an intolerant society. It's 2010 and we still got major issues that just don't need to e there... it's quite sad. There need to be more people like you! And the fact that you are just 16 with such knowledge boggles my mind.
Michael, I just came upon your videos regarding Dean. My God, what you two have been through. My heart goes out to you both. I agree with you 100% on what you have said in this video. I am gay, and it has lead me to being an Atheist. The hate directed toward us due to or sexual orientation, NOT CHOICE, is due to how people interpret the Bible. They have inflicted so much pain on so many people. If every GLBT person came out, society would reel from the impact. Stay strong.
No! Gay people don't feel wrong "deep down inside". They know they are doing the right thing "deep down inside". I assume you are 100% "straight" and there's no way you can ever know what it feels like to be gay. So how can you say that gay people feel wrong deep down inside? =P
wow....for a 16 year old your depth of knowledge on this subject is pretty extesive. At 16 I only wanted to be with guys and have a good time, but I never considered all that I went through. I accepted all the ridicule as a part of daily life. But you're right...we don't need this. We deserve if not respect, than at least privacy.
I'm 46 years old man and have a 17 year old son, I believe that God doesn't wire you or creates you in cretin way just to tell you, you cant be who you are, God is not that cruel, I believe God made you to be exactly who you are. I would be very proud to have you as my son like Im proud of my son just who he is. best wishes for you son.
Gays have been persecuted throughout history. Before the bible... It's unnatural. It's only human nature... You may not like the way it sounds but it's the truth.
Thank you so much for these videos. I really appreciate someone so mature taking the time to express himself for the positive benefit of others. These videos really help me see the truth about myself, and what I must do to be me.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I just came out to my dad. He didn't take to it well and I felt kinda worthless, but then I watched your video and I don't know how to explain it, but it gave me strength and comfort. I just wanted you to know that.
@directmestevie I'm glad, I really am. Give it time, see if your dad lightens up after he adjusts to it. If not, then hey may need a while, and if he does then all the better. Honest builds a closer relationship, applicable to anyone.
I hear you. It truly scares me, especially when religious fanatics have made it so that you pretty much need to be christian to get elected. And I fear we're going to get less and less rights. It seems we're just going backward.
the way you bring these words, it shows how you feel about the situation, yours personally but also globally. I understand the emotions going through your mind & feel as if you spoke the way I once did. I'm 26, live in Belgium, gays have almost the same rights as hetero's do. We can get married & adopt children. We're not prosecuted for holding hands or kissing in public. But still there are those who feel & act differently. NEVER let anyone bring you down for who you are! you are amazing
wow, this is good, thankyou! im 21 and need to start accepting who i am, cus i feel theres somthing missin in my life! gets me down, but i just put it to the back of my mind, and its building! i know theres nothing to be afraid of but its like iv got the handle of the door, but cant open it. its soothing to watch people like you and encouraging. And how you hav discribed everything, from choice to the bible, its dead on my views. Thankyou x
Wow! Even though you posted this video almost four years ago, for a 16 year old back then you had a sense of maturity and level headed. I can only imagine how much more of a bright and mature man you have become. No way in hell was I that eloquent at 16!
Congrats on a well structured and well thought out piece, I've been listening to tonnes of these sorts of videos and been trying to work together enough stuff to say and enough balls to do it. But seriously, fair play and I wish you all the best:)
So you're 20 now? I'm 16 and you are so articulate. I love the fact that you know what you're talking about and have so much knowledge.
I'm a girl and I think I'm in love with you :P Well ask those people to FUCK OFF because you're awesome. You should probably become the President of America one day :)
omg wow ur so inpirational to others i am in tears right now cause wat u say is so true one day i hope to meet u and u be famous for protecting our rights u would be a great activist ur 16 in that video u must be quite older now man
@1sideout I totally understand where youre coming from. I'm struggling with it myself, and totally get where youre at. I wish I had pople to talk to about it, but I just dont. What can you do.
I just had that same debate with my brother and sister when they use Gay to meen something as negative. I told them how I feel about that and they still don't understand. So when the TV news was pointing at hypocracy, I said: "Oh that is so Christian." they now understand me.
Beautiful video. You will amount to great things. I myself am a gay male, our generation can enlighten the world on who we are. Let's change things! And follow the ambition and drive of past revolutions. :-D
wow.... I think it's really great that you made these three videos...
and I think you're very brave showing your face with all the loonies running around.... you'd be better off living in europe.... there are better laws to protect gays... and it is more accepted...
be always yourself , you just made me cry.....its amazing , please never change and fight for your rights . fortunatly enough i live in a country where gay marriage will be a fact in 1 month . portugal.....it was a tough fight but we did it.....so go for it .....we are human beings...
I found you while on one of my You Tube wormholes tonight and am I glad I did. You have a great life to look forward to my friend. Being a gay man has led me to the most amazing and wonderful life imaginable. I wish the same for you. Gay people are the brightest, funniest, kindest and most talented people on earth. You are no exception. Cheers
Hey i wanna thank you for sharing this very personal video with people like me and like enyother who doen't have the courege to say this things. and just as overall, the three clip, are just very helpful!
I have just watched the three of your videos and just have to say...i wish i was more like you! Thank you so much for posting this rant, it makes me feel better about myself, and that usually doesnt happen for me. Im always depressed about stuff, rarely happy:(
your video gave me a much more mature attitude towards life and why i shouldnt spend it being sad.
As ive read in previous comments, i hope you have a great life, and i wish i knew you persoally. You seem so nice:)
Thanks for the clip. I'm a straight woman and have several acquaintances who are gays at workplace. Most of them are very successful in personal and professional lives and they are really nice people. In my opinion, it doesn't matter if you are a gay or not. As long as u behave right as a matured genuine man, u r a beautiful human being. : D
exactly! why do people care about what others do in their bedrooms or in their life or whatever. it's consensual and between two people who love other or whatever. so how does that harm anybody? it's so stupid.
People are programmed by their parents to think that "gay," the word itself, is a bad thing. Hopefully our new generation will overlook that, because I don't, and many others don't, want to have to live the rest of our lives in hardship....

Most all religions talk about gays going to hell. Gays are discriminated against. Wether you want to admit it or not, you know deep down being gay is wrong. You know that man is supposed to be with a woman. If man was supposed to be with man than they would be able to have children together. Being gay is a choice. Are you saying people like Otis Tool were just born to be killers? No, they chose to kill.
1 - So what if all religions talk abot gays goign to hell? Truth isn't subject to majority opinion.
2 - You have no right to tell others how they feel. I'm gay and I don't think there is anything wrong with it.
3 - Being gay is not a choice. However, let us assume it is a choice - so what? So what if I chose to be gay? That does not give you or government to discriminate against me. The religous CHOOSE their beliefs, yet we can't discriminate against them.
@nitrochicken it seems a little pretentious to assume to know what goes on in anyone else's head... also, its interesting that you indirectly paired homosexuality with murder. Do you see the two as equivalent? I'm not saying you cant have your own opinion, or that your position on homosexuality is right or wrong, im just asking for clarification. :)
@nitrochicken Being gay is not wrong, thats like saying people who like coffee over tea is wrong. Being gay s a personal preference. Do people choose to like coffee over tea? chances are not. What about people who are infertile or old aged couples? Are they wrong because they are not able to produce offspring?
@nitrochicken What an ignorant, stupid argument! You chose a very wrong analogy. Your analogy works in this case: you "chose" to show your foolish, misunderstanding view of homosexuality. Read matt7kiwi's comment, and hope you'll get your brain a bit enlightened.
@nitrochicken When I read your comment, my mind flooded with witty and rhetorical replies that I could bombard you with to show you my absolute opposal to you're statement. But I can't be bothered to post anything - it's clear that nothing I say will convince your small and narrow minded view of the world to see things differently.
I'll put it this way - did you choose to be unintelligent?
i watched all of your vids. interesting stuff and thanks for making them. Being gay is not a choice. God knows I would love to be straight. Being gay has fucked up my life since Jr. High until now. I hate being gay. I am a 35 yo guy. Most ppl think I got my shit together..but deep down im lonely and hate my life more than most would ever imagine. Why? Why did I have to be gay? Anyhhow, it is not a choice and you're dead on about that!
A great PMA (positive mental attitude). If you decide to continue your education in Canada (Toronto) my spouse and I would be more than willing to give you a place to stay where you can be yourself, and do you own thing. If I had a son, I would definitely want him to be as level headed and mature as you seem to be at 16.
Thanks for your comments, I'm glad you liked these clips. I'm sorry for you having to deal with cancer and the resulting backlash, that's really awful. Seems you drew the short end of the luck stick, or had it forced upon you. Sometimes I think we all have.
I am nearly 20 now, and was legally married in Mass. a year and 5 months ago. The other videos I've posted kinda explain about all that. Anyway, good luck to you and your spouse, I wish you two the best.
You have your thoughts together! I am from the US but have lived in Canada for many years. When you get old enough for university take a look at Canadian Universities (they are generally cheaper and quite excellent). An extra benefit is living in a country that is much more tolerant of gays (gay marriage, gays in military, ... benefit programs, etc.). Check out Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver for example. Cold winters; large amount of tolerance. Way less religious nut cases.
I've been with the same man longer than you have been alive, 20 years. Don't worry about the length of your video post. Something as emotionally complex and difficult to communicate as what you are trying to explain requires length. You have injected part of yourself in this effort to help people understand choice is not an option, acceptance and tolerance is!
I'm Mormon, I feel you are right however things like Gay Pride parades hurt your cause because of the perverse display of public sexuality that scares straight people. You have to be honest to see where some of the opposition comes from.
True, those parades can be over the top, but how much worse is it than televising the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders? Just because some people are squeamish doesn't make it wrong or worse.
this was made a little more than 3 years ago and it changed my life. I actually had to pause midway and take a shower...I thought about everything you said in the first two parts...got out of the shower and finished the rest and I just have to say WOW. I am sitting here at 1241 AM thinking to myself...he is just 100% correct. I wish I knew you personally...I wish there were more people like you...I feel heartsunk, replaying the words you spoke in my head. Thank you sincerely for your kind heart
Yes, society & attitudes suck, but we can't let what other people think define us. I've been with my partner for 40 years now... Will my partner or I be treated fairly tax-wise when the first of us dies?... No! But we've had 40 + years together & no one can take that away from us. So work for equality, but don't let the fact that you don't have it yet keep you from enjoying the good & wonderful joys we can experience, especially in relationships found in "the family of the heart."
I am so impressed with what you said. Thank you for sharing! If you have a good marriage - you should not feel threatened by what someone else does with their personal life. The Bible says everyone sins and no one is perfect. If we can define something as wrong for which we are not tempted - then we can feel good about ourselves. Our sins are not as bad as theirs. It is FALSE religion but very popular. They say, I am a REAL man because I am not gay. To me - you are the real thing. Thanks!!!
You are an inspiration. I am a high school teacher and I would love to show your videos to my classes. You have touch many points that are so relevant - plus you have touched my heart. Keep on and good luck!
Thank you very much, I am flattered. Ironically, it's comments like yours where you wish to share the video to an audience that makes me wish I had watched my language when I made them; I honestly didn't think anyone would see this video, thus a distinct lack of, umm, propriety. Anyway, thanks again, and good luck to you also.
u made me cry! u r a vry sensible person! i dont knw but ol d thiogs u said hit me right into my face!! i hve been coping w/ my gay prblem snce i was a child.dis society has dis thing 4 gay people dats y we always get being discriminated. but im telling u! hu gves a shit!life goes on no matter what!be strong! nothing is wrong w/ being gay!we're all humans!
as long as u dont hurt anybody & u do the right thing;u r perfectly fine!
How honest and heart felt. You have your life ahead of you and I wish you all the very best of everything.. Here in New Zealand we are free to be Gay but still there is a minority who sneer ! But 20 years ago it was a criminal offence here so there is hope for you yet. Don't let the ignorant get you down. Stand Proud !!! Your time is coming !
We should constantly remind homophobic dickheads that sexual orientation is not a choice; however, we should also emphasise the fact that we are CONSENTING ADULTS. So, even if the ignorant believe that we chose to be gay or lesbian, we have the right to do whatever we please with other consenting adults and the laws and the institutions of the United States cannot discriminate against us just as just as they can't discriminate against people who CHOOSE to become Catholics, Hindus and Muslims'.
i believe that a major reason why some people do not accecpt homosexuality is because its diffrent to them and do not know how to understand it. and i dont belive that there is such a thing as gayness, a person is a person, no one has the right to judge someone because they love someone who someone else wouldnt. you cant pick who u love, but keep loving, being gay is not wrong, judging is. and some of these people are right, god did not right the bible men did, ignorant men and their opinions.
I'm a gay identical twin with a straight twin. A good college friend is also an identical gay twin with a straight brother. There is epigenetic hormonal influence setting gender identity in the womb. The well documented older brother phenomenon, that the more older brothers one has, the greater the chance of a male child being gay. This implies keeperdudel07 is correct. A 2% chance of being gay increases by 1/3 for each additional older brother. I wish at 16 I could have had your insight.
Having older brothers raises the chance of a younger brother being gay; baseline, it is 2%. Being gay is tied to "handedness" for gay males, being right-handed ties that connection, left-handedness removes it. No evidence yet of an impact on lesbians. These connections make the chance of being tied to genetics, epigenetics and hormonal influence during the 8th week of gestation physical, not "choice". Like christian views on an earth-centered solar system & witches, wrong again.
Actually homosexuality was accepted in past civilizations (Greeks, Romans, Japan, South America, Thailand) but the emergence of Christainity led to the prosecution of homosexuality. Think about it logically Christianity spread to practically everywhere. But one day will come when everybody will come around and the'll look back at this time and blush with embarrasment. We are the last great minority. Ps I dont hate anybody (Christians/Homophobes) i just hate leviticus =D.
I am only 18 and only just came out to myself. i have always known i just ignored it. i just could not lie to myself any more i was so depressed all the time. i have only came out to one person, and she is ok with it. everything you said in your videos is exactly how i feel. you are the second youtuber that has made me feel like everything is going to be ok. as for the people saying thats gay it is just the way they grew up. i say it not meaning to it is just the way i grew up.
I see you posted those videos a while ago already. I hope since then things are better around you, about being gay. These 3 videos are just awesome. I'm sure lot's of young gays will find a great support in videos like these, where they can get some support seeing that someone is going through a similar situation. After watching them, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings about it. Big hug all the way from Spain.
hey there mate, I've watched all 3 of your videos, and I'm backing you up 100% because us gay men are being tortured so much for being who we are and it's f***ing pissing me off, i mean str8 guys out in the world can accept lesbianism why not gay/Queer or even faggots, i mean were really no different from them. anyhow you speak your mind and i like guys like that. x
You're my idol! The Bible was written by men... God writes in our hearts.. and your heart is full of love and kindness... so always speak your heart and let us see what God has to say!
Thanks a million for your rant! It reminds me of my own journey--the loneliness, the frustrations, the anger. In my long process of coming out and acceptance, one of the most profound conclusions that I've come to is that I (that we) am not the one with the problem. The other profound thing that I learned is that I am not alone. Thanks for speaking for us! My best to you and your journey!
Ya ur like all right... I'm 15 and have just told some close personal friends that I am gay. But most people kind of just know I am gay. But I'm looking forward to the future as an openly gay person and hoping that people will eventually just accept us!
Great video. Its very inspirational for ppl like me who cant openly come out. I'm from India and have been in the US for almost 7 yrs. I still cant come out to my family bcos of religious/cultural reasons. I will lose everyone I have known since I was born. But its the strength I derive from ppl like u that keeps me going - knowing tht if not for me, atleast future generations will have the rights tht I didn't have. In my case, I will contribute to the gay cause frm inside the closet.

Amen Brother. Education is the answer. Being politically proactive is imperative!
mosichat 6 days ago

Cascaderade 2 months ago
I'm gay and I use gay as a synonym for stupid. I even call other gay people faggots because I believe that there is a fine line between being gay and being a faggot. A faggot is a gay person who makes the rest of us normal gays look bad - the type who dress in drag, whore around, spread STDs. They are the reason we are looked down upon aside from the bible or whatever. Also, I feel that the ones who take things such as saying "that's gay" too seriously also make us look bad... Its not a big deal
Cascaderade 2 months ago

WELL DONE

Michael, your message is so honest and raw, that I actually became very emotional as you told of the experience with your co-worker’s degrading slurs about you being gay.
Greets M

@aoiahiru So what about hetero couples that don't want kids? Do you think they care if it's a 'waste of resources'? Speaking for myself as a gay person, I don't care either. Sex and offspring are linked in an evolutionary sense, but sex obviously takes place in all orientations without any thoughts about children.
brianv00 1 year ago
@aoiahiru It is what you make of it. I'd say the spirituality of sex has much more to do with the person you're with than its biological purpose.
keeperdude07 1 year ago
@aoiahiru The satisfaction from drinking water is general; an orgasm is a specific feeling derived only at the culmination of sexual process, and can be gotten at any time (you only enjoy water when you're thirsty). My point was that the orgasm seems totally irrelevant to the actual action of getting a female pregnant. You could, in theory, do one without needing the other.
keeperdude07 1 year ago
@aoiahiru Well, one thought would be that we (humans) are rapidly filling up this world and will soon overrun it with children. Would gays not, therefore, be the balance to the rabbit-like ways of the hetero? On another hand, you could ask whether sex actually is purely for the use of reproduction. Certainly there are some animals that experience it for joy. And why would it feel good at all if it had no other purpose? I think sex and reproduction are coincidentally combined, not intentionally.

EliseoMbo 1 year ago
I have just watched the three of your videos and just have to say...i wish i was more like you! Thank you so much for posting this rant, it makes me feel better about myself, and that usually doesnt happen for me. Im always depressed about stuff, rarely happy:(
your video gave me a much more mature attitude towards life and why i shouldnt spend it being sad.
As ive read in previous comments, i hope you have a great life, and i wish i knew you persoally. You seem so nice:)
I just turned 17..
torchwoodfan100 1 year ago
Thanks for the clip. I'm a straight woman and have several acquaintances who are gays at workplace. Most of them are very successful in personal and professional lives and they are really nice people. In my opinion, it doesn't matter if you are a gay or not. As long as u behave right as a matured genuine man, u r a beautiful human being. : D
appleforest01 1 year ago
exactly! why do people care about what others do in their bedrooms or in their life or whatever. it's consensual and between two people who love other or whatever. so how does that harm anybody? it's so stupid.
msquestionmark 1 year ago
People are programmed by their parents to think that "gay," the word itself, is a bad thing. Hopefully our new generation will overlook that, because I don't, and many others don't, want to have to live the rest of our lives in hardship....

Most all religions talk about gays going to hell. Gays are discriminated against. Wether you want to admit it or not, you know deep down being gay is wrong. You know that man is supposed to be with a woman. If man was supposed to be with man than they would be able to have children together. Being gay is a choice. Are you saying people like Otis Tool were just born to be killers? No, they chose to kill.
nitrochicken 2 years ago
@nitrochicken
Mattyb88ful 2 years ago
@nitrochicken it seems a little pretentious to assume to know what goes on in anyone else's head... also, its interesting that you indirectly paired homosexuality with murder. Do you see the two as equivalent? I'm not saying you cant have your own opinion, or that your position on homosexuality is right or wrong, im just asking for clarification. :)
eblekj 2 years ago
@nitrochicken Being gay is not wrong, thats like saying people who like coffee over tea is wrong. Being gay s a personal preference. Do people choose to like coffee over tea? chances are not. What about people who are infertile or old aged couples? Are they wrong because they are not able to produce offspring?
Tell me, when did you choose to be straight?
rikuizo 1 year ago
Being Gay is not wrong. Whether being Gay is a choice, or just down to who you are, being gay is not wrong. Straight up.
I would re-evaluate some tings if I was you. Because I can tell you now, that conclusion to this situation is bare messed up. Wasteman.
JonathanMoore2001 1 year ago
@nitrochicken What an ignorant, stupid argument! You chose a very wrong analogy. Your analogy works in this case: you "chose" to show your foolish, misunderstanding view of homosexuality. Read matt7kiwi's comment, and hope you'll get your brain a bit enlightened.
Snookimichev 1 year ago
@nitrochicken When I read your comment, my mind flooded with witty and rhetorical replies that I could bombard you with to show you my absolute opposal to you're statement. But I can't be bothered to post anything - it's clear that nothing I say will convince your small and narrow minded view of the world to see things differently.
I'll put it this way - did you choose to be unintelligent?
Exactly.

i watched all of your vids. interesting stuff and thanks for making them.

You have injected part of yourself in this effort to help people understand choice is not an option, acceptance and tolerance is!

keeperdude07 2 years ago
Lets THINK about choice for a moment.
A straight guy has sexual attraction for woman. He has no sexual attraction for guys.
He did not choose sexual attracted for women, it's 'hard coded' for him.
He can't CHOOSE sexual attraction for woman to stop.
He can't CHOOSE sexual attraction for guys to start.
Self evidently, the converse is true for gay guys.
Stupidity is a choice, choose reason!
matt7kiwi 2 years ago
Much agreed.

I'm Mormon, I feel you are right however things like Gay Pride parades hurt your cause because of the perverse display of public sexuality that scares straight people. You have to be honest to see where some of the opposition comes from.
rd1999 2 years ago
True, those parades can be over the top, but how much worse is it than televising the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders? Just because some people are squeamish doesn't make it wrong or worse.

keeperdude07 2 years ago
Yes, society & attitudes suck, but we can't let what other people think define us. I've been with my partner for 40 years now... Will my partner or I be treated fairly tax-wise when the first of us dies?... No! But we've had 40 + years together & no one can take that away from us. So work for equality, but don't let the fact that you don't have it yet keep you from enjoying the good & wonderful joys we can experience, especially in relationships found in "the family of the heart."
tedhax 2 years ago
I am so impressed with what you said. Thank you for sharing! If you have a good marriage - you should not feel threatened by what someone else does with their personal life. The Bible says everyone sins and no one is perfect. If we can define something as wrong for which we are not tempted - then we can feel good about ourselves. Our sins are not as bad as theirs. It is FALSE religion but very popular. They say, I am a REAL man because I am not gay. To me - you are the real thing. Thanks!!!

I wish at 16 I could have had your insight.
glennorlandcannon 2 years ago
That's really interesting. I wish everyone would realize that, but sadly, some people are stubborn.
Ironically, I have two sisters.
keeperdude07 2 years ago
Having older brothers raises the chance of a younger brother being gay; baseline, it is 2%. Being gay is tied to "handedness" for gay males, being right-handed ties that connection, left-handedness removes it. No evidence yet of an impact on lesbians. These connections make the chance of being tied to genetics, epigenetics and hormonal influence during the 8th week of gestation physical, not "choice". Like christian views on an earth-centered solar system & witches, wrong again.
glennorlandcannon 2 years ago
Actually homosexuality was accepted in past civilizations (Greeks, Romans, Japan, South America, Thailand) but the emergence of Christainity led to the prosecution of homosexuality. Think about it logically Christianity spread to practically everywhere. But one day will come when everybody will come around and the'll look back at this time and blush with embarrasment. We are the last great minority. Ps I dont hate anybody (Christians/Homophobes) i just hate leviticus =D.

I see you posted those videos a while ago already. I hope since then things are better around you, about being gay. These 3 videos are just awesome. I'm sure lot's of young gays will find a great support in videos like these, where they can get some support seeing that someone is going through a similar situation.
