It looks as if your amp was responding to the powerlines (rather than dodgy wiring or connections :). Google 'Eco Art field of beams' - a grid of fluorescent light bulbs planted in the ground beneath powerlines and glow from the radiation they emit...

Probably not, but... it may have had something to do with how close you were to that pylon. That, coupled with how close the mic was too. Or the amp was just fucked. And it definitely is now.

yeah we checked it all the wireing/conections etc etc but no cigar, so we smashed it up.

Jamie also does play a 'real' guitar. (by that i trust you mean an acoustic?) but this was what Jamie had with him at the time (this wasnt a planned shoot), see the Secret Garden "missing person' video for a taste of what happens when that amp does work haha
