the 540i won, watch the video more then once and unless you have a perception problem, its clear the 540i was ahead when the camera moved.

o and also a BMW E34 540i > a nissan 350z at drag racing.

540 do not cost triple what a z does.... 540i new are around 50k 350z new around 30k. That would make it around double. But if you get it used you can get a sweet 540i like this for under 10k. You can make anycar go fast, but you can't make a car classy. That being said. I like both cars, 350z more sporty 540i more comfortable/cruiser, but still sporty

I paid less than a g note for my e34 :)

Replaced intake gaskets and put Amsoil in it, rebuilt transmission valve body and had it on the road for less than 1500 total for the car, parts, and time to do it all.

the 350z has the dreaded ricer tax....where everyone thinks they are worth more than what they actually are.

@xeronicus Yes it does. Nice e34. I got a 528i for dirt cheep fixed the power steering and replaced window regulators. It's not the fastest car (actually pretty slow) but I'd still rather be driving it then the fastest ricecar

With a 1500 dollar turbo kit the 540 would catch back up, these bmw's are fairly looked down upon simply because of their size.

@xeronicus $1500 dollar turbo kit??? please tell me where I can find one of these so I can put it on my Z. Even if you could install it yourself, which i'de bet my next weeks paycheck you couldn't, the kit alone would cost 3k+ especially for a beemer.

Cost of 540I: 750 + 100 dollars for new 02 sensor

Piping and inter cooler from a friend 150

Oh hey look at that, 1500 dollars.

Planning on building a new engine for it from scratch to use two T62 turbos instead of just one t3 60-1.

Current pricing puts it at about 3 grand for all the parts and a block....lets see your Z keep up with it then.
