I read the stimulus bill, and only got halfway through the first section before it started to smell like old fish. It sets out a plan for expansion of broadband internet, but when you get into it and read the details, it allows the Fed gov't to condemn land for confiscation by the Fed gov't. The law used to justify the broadband provision is from 1936, and doesn't even mention the internet, it is a law regarding POWERLINES, not communications. Who ever wrote this POS is a moron.

So where is this stimulus money that is supposed to fix all of this? I am seeing things getting worse not better.

I read the stimulus bill, and only got halfway through the first section before it started to smell like old fish. It sets out a plan for expansion of broadband internet, but when you get into it and read the details, it allows the Fed gov't to condemn land for confiscation by the Fed gov't. The law used to justify the broadband provision is from 1936, and doesn't even mention the internet, it is a law regarding POWERLINES, not communications. Who ever wrote this POS is a moron.

When the recession began, the Bush Administration ignored it, and Republicans seemed to think that tax cuts for the rich would solve every problem. The Stimulus package covered the holes that the conservatives into the economy, and forced the worst of this recession to pass.

The money goes into state spending, i.e. state pensions, health care, education, defense, protection(police and fire departments), transportation, general government, "other spending" that defines anything not under any other branch, and interest for public debt.
Really, if you want to know at all of this, go look at your state government's spending charts.

We live in the state of Washington which has something like a $6 billion deficit. Oh, by the way, we have a democratically controlled legislature and a democratic governor who was recently elected to her second term. Teachers are being laid off, I am a care provider (health care) and my hours have been cut. Unemployment is rising, people are loosing their homes to mortgage defaults. So where is this stimulus money that is supposed to fix all of this? I am seeing things getting worse not better.

As far as I know, most of the stimulus money has yet to be spent by the state governments, and it is taking time. I would talk with your public officials about all of this.
Again look at Washington's spending charts, and see for yourself where the stimulus money is going.
Until we actually see the results of the Stimulus package in the long term, I wouldn't declare it a success or failure.

Obama's rhetoric and fancy speeches are wonderful but all I know is that none of this stimulus money is finding it's way into our household. That is the reality we are living with. The first cuts they made here were in education and health care.We are being told by Obama that we need to make sacrifices but I don't see our wealthy government officials taking a cut in pay like I have had to do. Puerto Rico not Included into the Stimulus bill?Puerto Rico is getting nothing out of the Stimulus bill, but Barack Obama promised Puerto Ricans "Change" and many Puerto Ricans still haven't been able to see any real change. Companys that leave USA in make products elsewhere is for low standers ,slave wages,ect Other countries have much more closed markets. Hey but we are getting a $16 dollar a week tax cut, so generous!!! Wait until the hidden tax hits (inflation) when all the goods we buy skyrocket!!! The problem was the banks were loaning money to unqualified borrowers. People that had no way of paying their monthly payment. The reason they did that because the democRATs community reinvestment act. They were under pressure from the fed to make these bogus loans. The government caused this melt down not the free
