Awesome tutorial! Thank you! You've been the biggest help for me learning this. The models look lovely so far. I do have one question about the Dissidia models I'm using. There is a texture map for facial expressions that is extracted with the .SMD by Noesis, but when I fix the textures in 3ds Max that image is never one of the mapped materials. I'm confused about what to do with it, since I really want my models to include all their expressions. Any advice would be appreciated.
About Dissidia: maybe you'll be lucky, I extracted a model 2 days ago, I was curious about it. So I'll check it out. I was able to put the normal textures easily, I didn't try out the facial expression textures yet.
I'll post something, if I figure it out, I'm also interested in it.
@Keyeszx48 Also when I change the textures it doesn't do anything except a slight color tint. The model is mostly black and gets a slight color tint as if it's there but the black is stronger.
@Keyeszx48 That's ok, the skeleton is big, because the model is small. You need to add the parameter -scale xx to rescale the model, when you are exporting.
I recommend 10 at least, I tried out with 100, that is also really good. It will make the model 100 times bigger.
@RatmanXX Thanks. I just learned what was wrong with the textures. It seems there was a layer that was just pure black on top of the model. I'm not sure what that's from.
@Keyeszx48 Thought I learned what was wrong with the textures but they aren't lining up at all. For some reason it acts as if the model is one whole piece compared to before where it seemed almost like multiple pieces with the black outline.
@Keyeszx48 I think the pure black is for the outline. I don't know why you saw that. Normally that is inverted to see that as outline. Als, if you check the models, there are versions of almost each model, that has no outline.
@cdffranzoni Yes you can. I used 3ds max in my video, but you can use other programs that handles smd models, also the models stay skinned, and they have the skeleton. I'm sure, Blender and Milkshape 3D works well to do this.
@cdffranzoni My iso file wasn't encrypted, and you can use Daemon tool, or other iso manager program to get the files. Also, I think you can do it with WinRAR. If you have CSO instead of ISO, you can use the free Format Factory software to make ISO from CSO.

I was trying this out on a bleach model and when I hit display links it still shows the fat skeleton. I'm using 3ds max 2011.
