This program is open to area youth between 15 and 20 years of age who have an interest in law enforcement. The explorer will receive a minimum of 40 hours of training in basic Law Enforcement in an Explorer Academy, and then receive ongoing training throughout the year through in-serve training at monthly meetings, along with riding with patrol officers. If you are interested in applying to become a Springfield Township Explorer, you can call Sgt. Brian Uhl at 729-1300
I was a Police explorer sience age 14 went on to a position in a Police Dept ant age 23 and also worked as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for 4 years. These programs are a excellent way to learn REAL WORLD SITUATIONS and hopefully keep you safe on the street I am no longer a P/O due to injuries sustaned on the job but it was a Great experiance and matured me and helped keep me out of trouble in my teenage years. Bravo to those who dedicate countless unpaid hours in thier community
@BlueReishiMan Dude Im 20 years old and Ive been an explorer for the past 5 years. It is one of the best experiences. It helped me so much for college, I know more about law and law enforcement than a majority of my college peers. Its great hands on experience and you learn how things work in the real world instead of from a bunch of theoris and books. and the cops are really cool and chill. Definately no Gestapo. I cant say enough good things about it to be honest.
