You need 3.2 GPA to get into USAFA, but you also need to be involved in sports. They rarely commission ppl to go to USAFA so normally you have to apply. If you make it, have your private pilots license, pass USAF PT Test, and pass physical and mental requirement you can get into fighter pilot training.

You are the person who will make you a pilot, you don't have to have a 4.0 GPA you just need 2.5 or higher. And ive seen people with much lower than that become airforce pilot's, it's all about you and your determination.

To become a pilot in the U.S. Air Force you must go to university at the Air Force Academy in Colorado or take an ROTC course at a civil university like UT at Austin. You must get a degree and then go to pilot school and later get selected among others to fly in certain aircraft.

If you want to be an air force pilot you can go about it three ways. OTS, ROTC in college, or the USAF Academy. You must be an officer though. But if you wanna get into the academy you have to start young. community service lots of sports, after school clubs and activities. Im 15 and have already started my preperation.

just to let you know, competition to become a pilot is EXTREMELY tough. I've worked my butt off to become one. so do your best in school and don't stop dreaming!! stay motivated, Oh and don't get in any trouble with the law(underaged drinking, and other stuff) keep a clean record. hope this helps!! :)

talk to an AirForce recuiter on their website. they have live chats everyday except sunday. they will get you rolling on the right path. tell you everything you know and answer all ur questions. I'm 18 and i'm doing the same as you. ASVAB scores were 93. SAT was 1540 and the ACT was 34. you need really good grades and no trouble with the law. ( i had a charge for minor in possession beer and alcohol) if you have a record you will have to get a waiver. Contact a local recruiting office.

The 2 teams are completely different, T-birds have powerful planes that really put on a good show, where the snowbirds focus on large formation aerobatics and precision. I'd like to see the T-birds do what the snowbirds do with 'psuedo-cessnas".

Blue Angels or Thunderbirds, doesn't matter which one you like more. The fact of the matter is that both demonstration teams are damn good and in the opinion of most, the best two demonstration teams in the world... No need to bash one or the other, they both deserve incredible respect for what they can do with their aircraft... GREAT Video, Keep It Up! Can't wait til the Thunderbirds switch over to the F-22!

I never miss the chance to catch an air show by either the Thunderbirds OR the Blue Angels. I've seen both, more Thunderbird shows, if had the chance to see one the other on the same day, it would be the Blue Angels. My brother used to take in the shows with me, a Navy veteran. When I made the comment after seeing the Blue Angels for the first time, that I was very impressed. His comment to me was "Hell yeah! The Blue Angel pilots have blown more enemy ass out of the sky than the Thunderbirds."

With each war since WWII, air combat has lessened, as we never again faced off against another massive and well-trained AF like we did against Germany and Japan. In the laughable fiction Top Gun, cruise shot down more planes than 99.9% of the then currently flying combat pilots...all in about 3 minutes!
