please could anyone give me examples of new jazz mucis you can dance to? im loving jazz for the first time but cant fint much without names of musicians
This brings back a great memory of long ago. My dad and I listened to this in the Phila. Free Library listening room, figuring out and analyzing what Tony Williams was doing. I miss my Dad,Miles and Tony all very much. Thanks for the post!
The beggining made me smile... When Miles comes in early then stops... I imagine in the studio he just looks up at Wayne and mouths "FUCK"... (Ron Carter was probably thinking the same thing, he came in when Miles started).. and they still recorded this as a take... what a guy
Miles did it first...please correct me if I am wrong. Can you imagine the difficulty for Brian Auger to re-arrange this to B3-Hammond?? I am not a musician and do not play an instrument; however, I can just imagine what the sheet music looks like. Can it even be transcribed??? How long would that take????
wish there was live version focused on Tony for this one.

@MegaBanne Miles is ok? You kids don't have to buy anything to find this music. Eddie Harris' FJD is on Myspace.

@7senator77 Ah yes...I was going to write the same. It's a brilliant title and captures the spirit of the song.
