@PJacques0653 preferred method would be a drill. A dremel rotary tool w/ a cutting disc would work. If there is any play in the rivet you may be able to get some shears beneath the head. But, that is very unlikely.

hey mate if i got my CFL fixtures could i get a 6 multipoint plug, cut off the 6 box part, connect my fixures by there neg and pos to the 3wires coming off my 3pin plug(im in New Zeland) then plug into wall as normal socket, would this be ok??

@rocknroll980 If there is enough wire on your connector then you could splice into them. If you secure them w/o solder they would eventually corrode.

Use a 9V DC plug for the fans to run quieter and should increase their life.

Also.. if you have a second computer, build one *without* lights. That way you can have two plants going instead of one(or double what you have lights for), just put one in the growbox and one in the *dark*box at 12 hours -once flowering.

you got to make a lite trap. just cut cardboard to shape around the fans and make a vent at the top it should look like a air vent in your house.

or you could open up the power supply and solder 2 wires to the 120 volts the comes in through the 1 cord so you could use lights that dont suck. :)

Fuuck. Right now, i'm growing in a cardboard box with tinfoil in it. I'm using a 27w CFL and i can't find a fan. It's hot as fuck in there, i don't have a thermometer but hell, i'm just a teenager, i need to ask my mom to drive me somewhere if i need to get any of these materials i need, lol, but so far so good.

@GanjaKreww ha ha im a teen grower too. i got 3 27w cfls and a flouresent bar over 6 plants and tine foil in a box but has a plastic frame inside. they are growin great. got a little plug in electric heater turned on only for the fan and a big plug in fan and a pc fan but the big fan is for exhaust. workin perfectly fine for me.

yes u need fans. fans keep the grow area cool, they simulate wind which strengthens stocks and branches, moves stale dry air out and brings fresh air in.

remember, plants grow naturally outside, so its important to recreate outdoor conditions for your indoor garden. check out jorge cervantes grow bible, it will tell you everything you need to know for big and small gardens.

Heres a tip.

If you want to, you could use LED 12v grow lights and wire it to your powersupply with 12v PC fans.

then your entire grow space is 1 wire as per usual.

you can avoid all the messing around with re-wiring and disassembling converters by simply running the original converter through a hole in the case, it will need to be a attached to the fans but saves a lot of time and energy and will ultimately be safer
