  • Oh WOW! I love how the backdrops are so much more...more! And showing the level transitions! I LOVE IT! They should have kept this for the console release. But the crow in the back cheering on the first level--it looks so good! VERY impressive for it's time.

  • Isn't there some sorta file of the original Ehrgeiz game to download for the PC???

  • @BlackBebop187 Ran on emulator. Search the web with keyword "ZiNc" and "emulator", you will find some information.

  • This game was awesome. The PS1 version wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as the arcade.

  • ehrgeiz = smackdown vs raw + street fighter

  • @RONNYADICTO More like WWE No Mercy + Tobal + Battle Arena Toshinden.

  • @RONNYADICTO

    stop saying that

    Ehrgeiz = Tobal 2+UFC Tapout+Street Fighter EX+Tekken+Power Stone+Super Smash Bros+Final Fantasy 7+K1-Revenge

  • @suavelyphe

Haha, then we should go back to the way of "Street Fighter", "Final Fight" and "Double Dragon".

And the last is... "Pong" or "Space War"?

  • I dunno if this has been mentioned, but Namco was slightly involved in making this game, even though it was mainly Square and Dream Factory.

  • @MJNSEIFER

I think Namco provided places for arcade market, and they approved use some moves of Tekken.

  • I love how they present the stage advancement in the arcade version.

  • wow... i remember this game i love Godhand! i remember playing this on a demo disk. 10/10

  • This dude is a badass. He even has moves from Kazuya Mishima, Heihachi Mishima, and Jin Kazama from Tekken. Also, notice his gloves. They have those balls on them just like Jin and Kazuya.

  • LOL, the audio is kinda weird...

But cool vid, I like how it is the whole walkthrough video of Godhand!

  • I'd love to see another fighter like this to get made.

  • dude, really nice gameplay.

I used to play like that.

I love this game so much, it was one of my first 3d fighters on the psx back in the day.

thanx for the remembrance of this great game.

    peace :)

  • you know what would make a great namco compilation? one that includes the ARCADE versions of this game (Ehrgeiz), Soul Edge (Soulblade), Tekken Tag Tournament and Soul Caliber. That would kick serious ass...great vid man! Godhand FTW!!

  • Namco had great tech, many experiences and locations (of amusement) for arcade.

On the other, Square has made their name with Final Fantasy series, got a good development team for 3D fighter.

If their aim was more sharp, another great fighting game might have appeared in there.

I had worked at Namco's amusement place about ten years ago. :)

  • I love playing the PS1 version, but damn, looking at this makes me with this was released on the Dreamcast instead, so that we would've gotten all the PS1 features AND all the neat bells and whistles from the arcade. XP

  • the makers of this game copied some of the characters on tekken!!..

  • Yes.

Seiichi Ishii the leader of this game's developer was a staff of Virtua Fighter 1 and Tekken 1.

And this game was planned as the launch title of Namco + Square's arcade project.

I like Tekken and Mishima family too.

  • @ULuv321 U notice how they also made Ken have soething in command with Ogre from tekken? Ogre has a mixed marial arts baed on characters he killed and Ken is the same two he has a mix of alot of Tekken Charcaters fighting styles to!

  • Never knew there was an arcade version of Ehrgeiz until about a yr and a half after the PSX version.

Man, I miss this game...got to buy it soon!

  • You can run it with ZiNc.

I'm not well-versed in recent versions of MAME.

  • Can this run on MAME?

  • doesnt he remind u of kazuya from tekken

  • I am so glad U have the, arcade version. The PS version was SOOOOOOOOOOO disappointing . They should remake this game on home consoles. They owe it to us.

  • Agreed.

I think developer polished Square's apple though we never wanted them to do it.

  • Thats true. Namco made the arcade version, than square messed it up, with the home version. They did good with, the Tobal series, so as I result, I hoped that Ehrgeiz ( the home version) would be good. 10 years ago 99, I was so hyped, when I saw that ehrgeiz was comin' to home systems, but had no i dea it was gonna be inferior to it's arcade counter part. Um....... is the runnin' off of MAME O.X. or Kawa X?
