I'm having trouble slapping my bass. Could it be a problem with how it's strung? When I try to slap my bass.....It sounds like it's being scratched. I can't pop or slap, maybe i'm just bad... :(
@CoolBear777 Dude I've been playing bass for six years and i still got so much to learn. I have tapping arpeggios down, chords, natural, artificial, and pinch harmonics down. The thing i still cant get is slapping, maybe its because i have tiny hands. But i love yer vids they gave me some extra insight and taught me how to be cleaner with my technique
The simple and direct answer...a metronome or drum machine (my favorite). Start with a tempo at which you feel comfortable. Gradually up the speed a bit. If you begin to slip a bit, back it down. There must be some diligent practice. Set your goal and climb toward it. We all have to crawl before we walk. Keep me posted on your progress. Take care.
I know this will sound, anything but cool, or good, but practice.. Alot of Slow, and Steady practice. Slow and steady, Trust me , in patience and i time, SPEED will come. Mostly , just like in anything ure hands have to adopt rightly in this technique, so the steadyer the slower, the faster improvement. It's like learning a song to sing, if you know the lyrycs perfectly, ull sing in any speed u can get ure tongue to flex to! ;]
Wow... this is the first bend I have seen on a bass!! It was cool!! You could post longer videos, maybe drums and bass improvisations, it would be cool!!
but i was wondering if maybe you could cover or tell me some excersices on how to increase your 2 finger playing style..i cant seem to gain a decent speed without my hand cramping up before a songs even at midway point.
Hey, man. I noticed your comment (through the vast ocean of comments on this video) and thought I would tell you how I do it. The way I sped up my 2 finger technique is this: Run up and down the neck on every two notes as fast as you can. The frets are: E:0 0 2 2 A:0 0 2 2 D:0 0 2 2 G:0 0 2 2 G:2 2 0 0 D:2 2 0 0 A:2 2 0 0 E:2 2 0 0 E:1 1 3 3 A:1 1 3 3 and so on as fast as you can until you reach the bottom of the neck. Then go back down. Just keep doing that and it should help a lot!
I cant hear it I think my sounds broken
