  • OMFG!!!! AWWWW! THEY'RE SO CUTE!!!! *DIES FROM CUTENESS ATTACK*

  • If I was lucky enough to be able to raise birds like this, I wouldn't want to go to town anymore ;-)

  • i have rhode island reds baby chickens and the are like 6 or 7 weeks old and the bantams are 9 weeks well today they are 10 weeks old and the rodies (rhode island reds) are bigger then the bantams! i have 5 silver duckwing pullets and 1 black autralorp 1 white rock 4 rhode island reds 1 cornish rock 1 black silkie

  • yeah mine are bantams

  • That is why they are so much smaller. None of the ones in these videos are bantams. The silkies I just got are, I think. We'll have to see how big they get!

  • im glad to see happy animals in such nice living conditions :] there needs to be more people like you

  • That was nice - thanks! They are my "feathered children." Gee, that kinda sounds creepy when I say it out loud! lol

  • Ah I got a furry kid then so its cool :D lol

  • why are your chickens so big mine are littleyou can still hold them with one hand.

  • What kind do you have? Are they bantams? I also have a group of 9 chicks that are about 2 1/2 weeks old and some of them are Silkies - they are tiny.

  • well good i have baby chickens at different ages 7 weeks another group of 9 weeks another group of 2 weeks and another group of 1 week

    i have 14 baby chickens

  • well mine are going to be 10 weeks on may 3 and i have alot of roosters but they haven't crowed i know they are roosters because they have big combs!

  • My guys are about 12 weeks old and other than a few tries, no one but the Fayoumis and Pedro (the Araucana) is crowing yet. It will happen, just give it time. So how are all your chickens doing?

  • at how many weeks do they start to crow?

  • My Egyptian Fayoumis (King Tut and Ptolemy) started crowing around 5 weeks, and my Araucana (Pedro - the one who poops on me in this video) started crowing around 7 weeks. I have heard one of the Barred Rocks (or Dominiques - not sure which) try to crow once about a week ago (8-9 weeks) but I have not heard him crow since. They will be 10 weeks old this weekend, and I suspect a few more will start to crow soon.

  • well i live in a city in a normal house and like i have my new baby chicks a house on top of the washer machine and there was a hole that i didn't saw and the next day i was goind to school in the morning so i went to feed them and they weren't there so i just found one and i left because it was late so when i came back i found the other one dead behind the washing machine so i just put it next to a heat lamp with bani {the other baby chick} and later in 2 hours he was ALIVE!

  • Oh my! I am glad he wasn't dead. :-)

  • sorry i messed up the rhode island reds are 6 weeks and the rest are 9 wks old except the other 2 that i got today

  • Isn't it neat to watch them at the different ages?!?! I am so happy you are having fun with your chickens, too! Good luck with them. I lost one of the Polish babies the first day. I don't know why - it was fine and then it just got weaker and weaker until it finally couldn't get up any more. At least I think it died peacefully. I buried her next to Gimpy behind the coop. I plan to plant some pretty flowers there to mark their graves.

  • i got 2 more baby chicks so that makes me 12 chicks the rode island reds (4) that i have are 6 weeks old and the rest (6) are 6 weeks and the golden campines (2) that i got today are 1 day old

April 21,2008 p.s. how can you tell if they are female or male?

  • I am certainly not an expert at telling boy chickens from girl chickens, but at this point (10 weeks old) if they crow, they are a boy. The Salmon Faverolles I can are both pullets because of their coloring. I constantly scour the web for info on ways to tell, but crowing and laying eggs is the only sure way, at least for someone as ignorant on the subject as me!

  • how many females and males do you have or you can't tell yet?

  • I am 100% sure that I have 3 males and 4 females - other than that, we are waiting to see. We go to the feed store today to pick up our new batch of chicks and they are supposed to be all female. We'll see. More videos coming soon!

  • so how many dominiques do yoyu have?

  • I am not sure how many barred rocks as opposed to dominiques, but somewhere around 3-6, I think. The combs seem to be the determining factor... Dominiques' combs are not as pointy...

  • We're due for another update. Im lovin' the vidoes.

  • Glad you like them! It is the end of the semester and I am swamped with student projects and drama, so more videos soon. We are getting more chicks next week, so hope to have new videos within a week. Stay tuned!
