I think it's a combination of reasons. I have been around a few musicians and they all say that you can't really have a normal life. To really make it, you have to go against the grain and cater to everybody. There's no such thing as TGIF for an entertainer. That's when most of them are out performing. Not all aspects are glamorous by any means.

Usually when someone like Cyndi gets out of the business after having immediate success, they are doing it for the right reasons. Hope this helps.

Remember, this was from 2001. Basically, Cyndi just decided to get out of the music business and marry and start a family. I guess the whole thing is just not for everyone. But she had 2 other hits from this album. I'm sure she could have had several more.
