@TUUKUU i wonder what race has to do with music? music is universal, anyone can be just as romantic as others, its just up to the person to realize that.
omg this is soooooooo beautiful!!!! can listen to this over and over!!!!! i'm sooooo glad i found this here!!!!! i didnt even know about this phantasia album!!!
@dhcutiger oh, you HAVE to buy it if you think this clip from it is beautiful. Save up and get all 34 minutes of pure delight!!!!!!!! It's on itunes, unfortunately, it's $11.99, (you also get their Woman In White Suite) but it's just worth the money!
So beautiful. I really love this song. Especially when it was played by Webber and Chang. They made a great harmonization, just like a real Raoul-Christine.
Wonderful interpretation - pure instrumental - between Violin and Cello. These are "Christine" and Raoul perfect interpreted. Sometimes better than with human voices. Sarah Chang plays wonderful - I like everything she is playing.
how harmoniously they can blend in together and create such an emotional and powerful piece of music...it's just flawless!! it gives me goosebumps more than the singing version...heavenly...
............*sniff*........*sniff*............the power of music is...so powerful! it reminded me of two young lovers, the cello and violin... listening, accompaning the other....perfectly perfect. =D
This is the only song that I think if i saw played by them in person, i'd cry. Masculinity aside, this peace is sheer beauty. Beautiful interpretation and all!!
When I was 15 my violin teacher said that I was a good player, but that I needed to play with feeling. I didn't quite get what she meant then, but when I listen to Sara play, I understand....
i think it depends on the tone you're setting. cello's really know how to make a meloncholy mood and voilas a romantic. violins mostly can have a regular/appy mood. that's in my opinion
ciaconne90, Hi! I agree about the cello... but the violin can be beautifully melancholic and brooding, and the higher register, when played well, lends to this in an inimitable manner.... Hilary Hahn playing the barber violin concerto, 2nd movement for example.... amazing.
i think its any instrument may be a violin, guitar, piano, cello, viola, clarinet, flute, harp or etc its in the person playing it that matters if its a robot playing it of course it has no feelings in it but if it was a human expressing a wonderful feeling you'll see what i mean
I feel like with this recording Sarah Chang and Julian Lloyd Webber played their parts in response to each other and as a duet at times, like the singers do in the movie. This is unique and beautiful because they make the piece about the interaction with each other, not using the piece to get ahead of one another. I have to congratulate them :) They did wonderfully.
Sarah Chang plays better than Corina Belcea, Corina playing sounds like a very showing off passage from a concerto than this beatiful romantic pieces. Sarah did great
There is no public score for sale for this original orchestration. So unless your friends with Sarah Chang, Julian Weber, or Andrew Weber, you're out of luck.
I feel like that I am listening Itzak Perlman's play.

@ciaconne90, but the cello in this case is the Phantom's voice, definitely!!!

i thought the cello in this is nearly nicer...i like the steadiness of it...the violin is a little bit too tremolo-y or something...
