He has a pretty good tone, but this guy's technique is VERY amateurish. I guess it's forgivable since he's self-taught, but this guy would need years of intense training to get to the point where he would actually be comparable to even an average opera singer.

Paul has a beautiful voice, and it does not matter how trained up to the eyeballs a tenor is, hearing Paul live and the others, I don't understand how his voice pales in comparison. Some pro. opera singers sound shrill .

Good effort, good technique, but faulty tone. He thins out FAR too much in the top of his range, and that's where it should be at its RICHEST for a piece of this magnitude. Listen to someone like Pavarotti or Bocelli for an example of what I mean. He's good; for an amateur.

What is????? Potts is not the only tenor voice in the world. In each opera-class (opera students) of the world are voices like this and better. Potter is a TV Tenor but he is not god enough to sing a big Tenor-part in a Operahouse. In the smalest villages are theaters with better tenors. Potter can't get a job there. @Youkali67 Totalmente de acuerdo con tú comentario, no hay punto de comparación entre éste tipo y Pavarotti, el registro vocal como su tessitura tenían unas características únicas. El "Tenor" no es de mis tessituras favoritas pero los pocos que me gustan muestran una capacidad enorme.

t,antomeza You say it is an insult to Pavarotti, Pauls voice in concert was as good as I've heard, and his recent performances are better still, still alot of training behind Pavarotti, definately not singing quality, and susejf has been going after Paul Potts so many times it is now an issue of jealousy and malice. Something when reading susejf and antomeza tells me you are the same person.

I've both studied and taught professional voice for over 30 years. Both are great tenors, but differerent. Its important to recognize them for the brilliant talents they share, and the emotions and musical interpretation they each have been able to give us. Music will always be in transition - in the main stream, and even in the past few decades with Andrea Baccelli using a "microphone" and taking heat for it. Would it be better that he develop nodes as did Povaratti? We are growing -

I prefer Pauls CD to Pavarotti, it is beautiful. I have just come into Pauls sites, can't get enough of his voice, from what I,ve seen of his performances, he is amazing. I think he must get better also.

The fact that many people celebrate this so-called singer as the "new Pavarotti"is an insult to the memory of one of the greatest singers of the century.A dedicated singer that worked very very gard to get to the top,not a product of a vulgar media show but years of training.

I had the disgrace of listening to him twice:once in front of the Bloomingdale's store in NYC and also at a football game,as usual he sang the same aria in NYC and the English's national anthem at the football game...well I still ask myself how can anyone even consider to put him next to the great Luciano.

I have heard him in concert and he was outstanding, few opera singers would perform after a night on plane, I read Pavarottihas been booed for some of performances. The recent concerts are better than the first, but the emotion of his voice did it for me straight away. The national anthem, did you hear him sing above crowd. I didn't.

I could see Paul singing Nessum Dorma the first time a thousand times... ¨I wasn´t expecting that¨ says the judge. I think not even if Pavarotti was brought to life would´ve imagined that Paul Pots, a salesman, would´ve had that voice. And if you get excited when watching this video, is probably not because of his amazing voice but because of the fact that ´no one´was expecting it from him!!!! AWESOME!!!! 1000 times!!!!

What i like about simon cowell is that when he says someone is good- it's really true unlike some of those other judges like randy who are just full of shit. She is well fit! Paul Pots, well with a name like that you wouldn't expect such raw talent. WOW!!!

What is????? Potts is not the only tenor voice in the world. In each opera-class (opera students) of the world are voices like this and better. Potter is a TV Tenor but he is not god enough to sing a big Tenor-part in a Operahouse. In the smalest villages are theaters with better tenors. Potter can't get a job there.
