Ok.... This is different .. And not in a good way.. The guitar and everything sounds as if I'm in the 15th cEntury during the Renaissance WTF??!? Yes the guitarists are very skilled but this music sounds all the same... Tyr... Aryeon... E.t.c all sound the same... Listen to Amon amarth or death if u want a different sound... That's ACTUALLY GOOD
have you heard any other Ayreon because there is no way you can claim that it all sounds the same. I do enjoy Amon Amarth and Death but Ayreon will alway be my favorite

@dippittydoo tbh, this music is very much different then týr (this is "guitar solo music" (progressiv ore similar), týr folk metal). ofc there are always bands somehow sounding similar, but none are the same.

fyi, i love both of the bands mentioned - but musically this is superior in every way possible. melodic, partly "off-rhythm" drums and guitars - it creates a musical landscape which is absolutely beautiful.
@dippittydoo There's a difference between progressive metal and folk metal, AND death metal from the examples you've posted. So there's no such thing as what band is better when you're dealing with different subgenres of metal. But personally, I prefer Ayreon, the project is unique and really different.

@booyakaburger it's cause the first guitar riff is a slight modification to some famous classical piece. I can't name it exactly but that's what it is. This song is CRAZY RIDIC! i fuckin' love it
