  • Good information! I'm going to Japan this summer and this was very helpful in getting to know Tokyo :)

  • @DarkMagicSeptember Have a great time! Tokyo is a fantastic place.

  • hey great video but what is the name of the adventure game you were playing in the arcade where the guy touched it with his finger?

  • @KingDevilX666 Shining Force Cross Raid from Sega. You purchase a plastic card to save your character's data so that you could pick up your game at a later time.

  • Man.. I've always wanted to go. How well do they understand english over there?

  • @KazMux In Tokyo? Probably better than rural areas, but most people are not fluent and generally do not understand foreign accents well. That said, patience and a smile transcend language barriers. Japanese people are almost always willing to help if you are not a jerk.

  • Next time you go instead of rum and coke, I recommend a High Ball. They have a lot of different flavors and are a lot cheaper because rum isn't as possible as whiskey. Also Chuhai is pretty good and as cheap as beer (not sure if they carry it in restaurants though).

By the way, what was the name of that table flipping game? The top is cut enough that the only part I can catch is 遊び. I am suddenly gripped with the desire to play it (and I'm going to Akiba tomorrow, so...).

  • Craig, the statue of the dog you were standing next to, was that Hachi?

  • sweet man, i have always wanted to go to japan !

  • very nice :) I enjoy watching Tokyo a lot!

  • I want everyone to come to Japan.

  • @zengeng1991 You can stay at my house in Germany and I will stay at your house in Japan. Sounds good?

  • Weren't you a bit scared because of the incidents in Fukushima? Some people say that the Japanese gouvernment is hiding all the details and the outcome of the disaster and although I really want to visit Tokyo, I'm concerned that I also might be affected by the radiation.

  • I went there when I was 13 yeah I couldnt do much but I did have a gf for a week XD

  • Awesome video dude! Japan and Tokyo in general is one place i have always wanted to go and plan to at some point in the near future, you looked like you had a really great time! :)

  • Although I found the busy city atmosphere of Tokyo to be a little daunting when I visited, I still loved it there a whole lot! It's too bad you couldn't drink the beer! Great video, brought back some good memories.

  • I love Japanese style and even European style for that matter. Notice in the clip you show of that crosswalk in Tokyo how everyones dressed. You wont see anyone there leaving their house in sweatpants with meatball sub stains on their T-shirts yet in America I see that shit all the time have some pride in yourself jesus...anyway great video bro hope you had a good time

  • that looks like a very awesome trip!!!

and why the hell is nova (uberhaxornova) in th erelated videos LOL

  • what do you do for a living?

  • wow, how'd you lose all that weight? Did you run into lukemorse1?

  • 5:04....damn craig your lookin lean and mean buddy....good for you :)

  • Craig-"So a little glass of rum and coke costs about 12 bucks"

note to self....bring my own captain morgan when visiting Japan...that is all

  • I love how Tokyo is so clean - London is such a dump to live in.

  • awesome stuff man, looks like a blast!!

  • YEAH GLUTEN ALLERGY!!

  • You went to Japan and didn't take your old buddy ROB with you? Shame on you Graig :-( LOL.

But seriously, Looks like you had a great time:-D

  • Thanks for sharing Craig!

  • So jealous!

  • 3:05 looks awesome!!!!!!!!!

  • I DO NOT SPEAK ENGRISH xD

  • So jealous!

  • Nice vid craig, you deserved a vaca, looking good too man, you have lost a lot of weight

  • I have said from a young age that I will visit japan, and I still very much intend to :)

  • Man, Japan has really cleaned up after the Earthquake and Tsunami in March.

  • You are ambassador of Japan!

  • are you allergic to wheat? asking because you said that you can't drink beer

  • Beautiful, I definitely will go one day.

  • I had a chance to go to Tokyo a few years back but I passed it up because I hate long flights, the second they make teleporter machines I'm there loll.

  • I want to go to Tokyo one day.

  • How much money should you plan to have for a trip like this?

  • @RayfromBeyblade With the shitty exchange rate right now? A lot. Even with a decent exchange rate? Well, still quite a bit then too. It's not cheap. But a lot of it depends on where you want to stay, where you want to go and what sorts of things you want to buy. A couple grand is a good starting point.

  • @tvandlust: And are you talking about USD or some other currency?

  • @tvandlust Shitty rates? A yen is around about a usd penny. It used to be more than that? Thats what Ive always been told, was to think of a yen as a penny.

  • @Zlykin The last time I was in Japan before this, it was about $1 USD to 112 yen. This time it was $1 to 77 yen. If you change the word "yen" to "cookies," you can understand the situation more clearly; my dollar was buying far less cookies. In this case, it represents a purchasing power decreased by more than 25%.

I would define that as "shitty" myself, but your interpretation may vary.

  • @tvandlust Well. this is interesting. Ive got a bit of money saved up anyways, so I think Ill be fine, but this is interesting to know. ill keep in mind that i wont be getting my fill of 'cookies'...

  • Ughh... I wish I could get out of Redneckville, U.S.A. Tokyo looks awesome!

  • so lucky! lol

  • Amazing Video Craig.. I really enjoed it and very Tastefully done.. I have always wanted to go to Japan and also always dreamed of moving there. You make great videos but this is probably my favorite. Thanks for sharing your epic trip!

  • Cool video - your passion and enthusiasm for Tokyo life really shines through. Looks like an awesome place to visit!

  • I love it when you make videos like this. Thanks for sharing. Japan is on my bucket list for sure.

  • My dream !

    Thanks for sharing !

  • Hey tvandlust did you have an itinerary or did you just explore to your heart's desire? Were all the areas you visited close together (walking distance) or did you have to use the subway often?

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself with your fiance. I hope to achieve what you have done (fiance and trip)!

  • @muffin1man1 Since I've been before, I had a general idea where I wanted to go again or what things I've missed before. Beyond that, I did do some research. But no, no real schedule. Maybe some guidelines like, "Let's head in this direction today." A strict schedule probably wouldn't have allowed us to explore and get lost and just enjoy the experience.

  • @muffin1man1 Oh, and yeah, I used the subway a lot. Everyday, usually several times a day. It's pretty much a necessity. But it's super easy to use, clean and efficient. The cost was a little out of sorts this time with the exchange rate, but it's pretty affordable.

  • I want to go!

  • I would love to go there, it's my dream do visit Tokyo and Japan in general at least once.

  • Fascinating video! I really enjoyed it, as I would one day love to visit...and buy up as many Saturn games as possible! :)

  • Awesome video...thanks for sharing !

  • Aww shit SlipperMooseCakes is right about his comment! Those places sure look freaking amazing.

  • You have lost a good amount of weight man. Keep it up. And of course this was a very interesting video. :)

  • @SlipperyMooseCakes Thanks a lot! I lost an additional 5 pounds in Tokyo because I walked so much, even though I ate a lot.

  • @tvandlust I thought this too. I like it when a fellow a nerd breaks the stereotype if you don't mind me saying. I want to go to Tokyo some day too but poorstudentitis is a disease I'll have for a fair few more years which sucks.

  • aww i love Japanese culture and Japan in general and always wanted to go to Tokyo

  • I absolutely love studying the various cultures of the world, and you're at least acquainted with my love of Japan, Craig. Needless to say, i'm jealous.

  • So jealous! maybe I will go sometime in the future probably not

  • You should have met up with Luke Morse :p

  • @yesyesnono12 Yeah, I tried messaging him. He didn't want to respond.

  • o u lucky git

  • @N64zoot the hells a git? lol

  • Tokyo looks so amazing although I Probaly won't go because I'm afraid of flying

  • My dream place to live

Always wanted to learn the language and culture

  • DUDE, next time you go to Tokyo, I'll be glad to give you money for an Emolga and Emboar doll :D

  • So lucky dude! I would love to visit Tokyo for a week sometime. Your video doesn't do it justice if you where there for over a week. I tell ya for me just going to Chinatown in Toronto for some reason makes me feel really happy to be out and about. I know it's not the same thing at all but there's just something about the surroundings. Small streets, small shops, neat underground mini malls, good food and tons of people all over the place yet I don't feel nervous at all.

  • @MN12BIRD Yeah, no video will ever capture a country accurately, but I like to think I did a decent job. :)

  • I wanna go to Japan one day. I had two chances in high school with my Japanese class (one was two years ago, and the other four years ago), but could never come up with the money. I'm jealous, man. Glad you had a good time. If only I could've paid attention and gotten past the language barrier a LOT better. XP

  • You lucky... gyah XD

  • i know im awesome

  • I was going to write something interesting, but I've got homework, so: nice. Sorry Craig.

  • Jealous!

  • first

  • @LLschoolJ2 BEING FIRST BASICALLY MAKES YOU JESUS
