  • So many great songs by The Fixx, but they were arguably at their best with this track.

  • The intro sounds like Skrillex dupstep lol.

  • Love Love Love this song!! but is there a stereo version out there?

  • My new 83 Celica Gt with 6 speakers and 2 amps, and yes, a tape deck cruisin' downtown on a hot summer evening listening to this.

  • Great band great tune...brings back a lot of memories...

  • @rbarbaro I agree, great tune!! :) this song moves quite well!

  • this video is krazy. The music is awesome. But anime is so.... odd.

  • love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the finest of The Fixx songs... I guess Aeon Flux it fits like a glove...

  • Great song by The Fixx

  • One of the few good songs from the 80`s.

  • Man, this is so cool! You've got it! Perfect blend with Aeon!

  • this song was in Streets Of fire great movie

  • koji je ovo glupi crtani????katastrofa???

  • Love what you've done with this music video. Deeper And Deeper is one of the best tracks the band have done. It is THE BEST musical intro with JWO's guitar put through Greenall's synth machines. Sounds so futuristic and cool. And whoever said the Fixx albums milked from the same idea, that is such a load of crap. They were and still are one of the most cerebral and thought-provoking bands in history. Just takes an intellectual to get their new wave debonair and slick, sophisticated charm.

  • I am so glad i grew up in the eighties! I would go back in a second!!!

  • Me too

  • The adding of the Aeon Flux cartoon goes perfect with the song. Great choice! I just love the bass guitar in the background. I could listen to this song over and over again. Wait! I have been!!

  • I really wish someone would make a music video with just lyrics to this song.

  • The synth intro just sounds amazing cranked loud on a great stereo system. This song was so far ahead of its time and I'm still not sure if its time has yet come.

  • Definitely. I totally relate. Cool cars and cool music will always do it for me too.

  • JUst a FaB Band

  • I remember this from the Streets of Fire soundtrack. I wore out that cassette because of this song. Listening to it always made me feel so cool.

  • @capebee same here lol

  • @capebee same here lol riding down Williamson Rd. in Roanoke, Va. 71 Mustang windows down volume full up dag

  • excelente cancion!!!mexico

  • This band was one of my favorites

  • I am ashamed that I am responding to a entry of over 2 years ago. I agree that the Fixx is the most under-rated bands of all time. Oh! Yeah.. And one of the best of all time. Fixx? If you want fame and fortune, have a reunion tour.... Milliions......

  • @dawright27 haha they have never stopped touring buddy. IN fact they have a new cd coming early next year (2011)

  • There's a woman at my school who looks like Aeon Flux, but with blue eyes. We should go on missions together . . .

  • @Wargoat6 Do it!

  • I LISTENED AND LOVED THOSE OTHERS, BUT I LISTENED TO THE FIXX MORE!

  • Wow. I had forgotten about this song. Shame on me. It's a great cut mixed with Aeon Flux. Thanks for putting this together!

  • thought it was recorded for "to live and die in LA"

  • Number One album track for the year 1985 at WTCS, Fairmont, WV...

  • They were something else.

  • Damn I miss the 80's ready to go back and stay!!!!

  • @40Rtruss if you find a way, i'm goin' with

  • I always tried to figure how they recorded Jamie's guitars on this, but then realizing they used two rooms one with him mic'd in and then a second to capture echo's off the walls. I could be wrong but it's incredibly well done.

  • WOW! Love the Aeon Flux art style and the song! Frickin' awesome vid! :D

  • Absolutely one of the best songs out there, even after all this time....kids today need to step back, and realize music as it was, and not today's crap, in my opinion

  • Dear Miser 42. Agreed longer is better. I also like the live version on their React album. Well done, both this longer version.

  • One of the greatest bands of the 80's.

  • Actually, this version was used in an episode of the greatest TV show ever: Miami Vice.

  • i agree ....verrry underrated,aeon flux days

  • Awesome!

  • forgot what a great song (and band) this was. very under rated.

  • I like it. For me it's great music, thank you!

  • opened for these guys in San Francisco in '02 and it was the 4th time seeing them. They were, of course, fantastic and good guys back stage as well. The Fixx were also my 1st concert in 1983. Reach The Beach tour, Seattle, WA at The Paramount Theater.

  • saw them with the moody blues wow

  • @MrDollaBill64 I saw them in Atlanta, they opened for Moody Blues. I spoke with Cy briefly. He came out and stood on the side of the stage with Adam to watch the MB play, and I told him that I came to the concert just to see the Fixx, as I had no interest in the MBs. Cy was very humble and down to earth.

  • @nahars I worked at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville during my late teens, and got to meet these guys. They were very down to earth and appreciated their fans.

  • Back when animation was actually cutting edge!

    The music fits it perfectly.

  • Good idea using Aeon Flux footage with this song. Very cool!

  • the scene is missing where the door amputate her legs..

    damn thats sick one

  • The live action movie starring Charlize Thereo was boring.

  • I love the band and Aeon Flux this is awesomeeee!!

  • Wow...they are very skinny and stretchy x3

  • this song is bad *SS for the ages

(this was in the movie "Streets of Fire" )

When I was younger I didn't appreciate it as much

I liked their other songs more

now this is my fave by them

I saw them at Daytona Beach, in 88 or 89

    on spring break

  • I remember watching that Spring Break concert on MTV! Yes they were great!

  • It sounds like my RL in total stereo sound!!!! im glad i got back into the Fixx in my life again, i only heard 3 songs from the when they were on top back in 1985..i recently got back into this band!! I am so glad!! I love thier new music even better!

  • Aeon Fluxxx is great cartoon ! back to 90's ! Got damn that was da best times eva' ...

  • My alltime favorite Fixx song...!!

  • I see the edge,I look I fall.What do I see?

  • I saw them open for The Moody Blues in the mid 80's and I think I enjoyed their show better except the bass player had a weird way of holding the bass ,it was kind of annoying but great show.

  • Friendo.

  • I get deeper and deeper!"Your a bit deaf are'nt you?I said,do you live in that house out back? What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss?"Call it."

  • sounds like u know ur lyrics....lol:)

  • mighty good there!

  • Killer song, good audio quality!

  • must see band !!

  • @cowboy0140 dammit and I missed them here cause not enough people showed up for tickets :(

  • good song, but pairing with aeon flux...?

  • what is the name of cartoon used for this video?

  • Aeon Flux as it says in the info to the right. Some, maybe all episodes where shown at MTV in the early 90's.

  • what is the name of the cartoon used for this video?

  • Good god, is this version better.

  • jimmy is right

  • This isn't "anime". This is a french cartoon.

  • This song sound great loud while driving!

Turn it up, give em a blast of good music from the 80's in traffic.

  • Great fuck tune

  • especially while high on ecstacy and shrooms! shame on me.

  • This was an incredible song way back when i was in my teens listening to this full blast on my walkman.

This was a B-side and it wasn't meant to be an official release.

    Still a great song!

  • actually, you are wrong, it was recorded especially for the film "Streets of Fire" it was released as a b-side dujring the phantoms singles to give fans a way of getting it without buying the horrible soundtrack

  • True, but the "Streets of Fire" soundtrack had the shorter inferior version. This is the better version, it's a little longer with a longer intro and it did end up on the B-side of the "Are We Ourselves?" single. It should've been it's own single.

  • @miser42 The Streets of Fire soundtrack is awesome!

  • @miser42 Loved the Soundtrack. How can you hate Bonnie Tyler, Jim Steinmann, the Blasters, Dan Hartman, Ry Cooder and Maria McKee all at the same time?? They're all in separate genres. Stupid comment. I loves me some Fixx, but I'd rather listen to 12 songs by these heritage artists than a whole album by the Fixx attempting to milk 12 songs off basically the same musical idea.

  • Comment removed

  • @voxepisode nobody said they hated those artists. however, those artists added a lot of filler music to the soundtrack.....with he exception of Dan Hartmans song and the Fixx song.....the soundtrack falls flat. But...that is my opinion. Oh, and your assessment of the Fixx's milking one idea for an album is about as asinine of a comment as I have seen in regards to a band. You confuse style and sound. You also, have obviously never really listened to a Fixx album. Alas, once more...it is opinion

  • i neeeed my fixxxxxxxxx!

  • i remember this song when it arrived (i doubt it's about the US budget good lord) i never cared for to much of that 80's over processed puppy metal sound, but this song has a hard hitting hook and bridge and i really enjoyed. to me a rare gem from a generation lost in greed and shallowness lmao

    just my opinion

    jimmy

  • Whenever I listen to this song I deepen the bass track on the CD and wow!

  • This is about the United States deficit

  • oh brother

  • Yes, I think they are psychic! (haha) Actually the country was in another recession when this was released.

  • Comment removed

  • Damn...it's just got a hook to it. I love them. Cy Curnin...I need my Fixx...I've got to look for tour dates.

  • Great song but looks like a shit movie.

  • Comment removed

  • ruleoforder, obviously you don't know anything about what great music is. STUPID IDIOT

  • *And yes Alice in Chains was metal before some know-it-all greater-than-thou everything other than metal sucks.. type ignoramous chimes in. Some of the best metal ever done as well. So stuff it before you think it lame-o.

  • I still had Alice Cooper/Black Sabbath and Deep Purple on the brain in the 80's and saw Streets of Fire but don't remember this tune at all. Compared to what I was listening to the 80's music was just lame and made by english queers. Now in 2009 been the full circle and some 80's stuff is ok. and let us not forget Bauhaus. But metal went on great into the 90's and until Layne Staley-Alice in Chains OD'd. Kobain did his share to ruin metal but was good in it's own rite.Megadeth is the almighty.

  • I've heard Kobain called a lot of things...but never before have I heard the term Metal asscoiated with him

  • I think this song was ou in the summer of 1984

  • Still a good song after all this time.

  • This was one of the top three all time bad-ass friggin' cool songs in all the 80's but it never gets played in any of the retrospectives. Well what the hell is that all about? The other two are "Submarines" by Thomas Dolby and "The Sun Always Shines on TV" by aHA for those who are just joining us.

  • I do love the Fixx.

I hate Anime, and I'm old enough to remember this video which is pre-anime.

In any case, I hate it.

    The song itself is great.

  • THE FIXX - one the top 5 bands of that era! Thanks for posting!

  • Unbelievable.

I have and love their 3 LP's Shuttered Rooms, Reach the Beach and Phantoms and I have NEVER heard about that song!

  • rent "Streets of Fire." The first time I heard it was while watching the closing credits.

  • A longer and better version.

  • I have owned this CD forever and still listen to it every year, it's my ocean "Driving Music"... it's starting to skip now on track red skies... although very refreshing to see the video, I'm still gonna buy a fresh copy of CD ... Peace !

  • Who produced this? Rupert Hine? And was it released? Thx

  • Their guitarist, Jamie West Oram was SICK!!! Great Tone and Incredible Rhythm!!! Too Funky!!!

  • Truly great stuff! Curnin was an innovator. Listened to this many, many times. Fixx: thanks. Namaste-Om-Shalom!

  • Great song! I think the singer can be heard belching right after the first chorus. (Maybe he drank a root beer right before going into the studio.) It works for the song though - he does it in time.

  • No two ways...THE FIXX is one of the most under-rated bands.

  • Yes!!, my 2 favorite passions: Anime and The Fixx :D :D!!!, so lovely indeed, love this song, it's a classic :D :D!!...Thanks for uploading :D!!

  • This video ruins, all time favorite of this groups songs, the Fixx still sings today, and they are still great today!

  • ya i saw them last weekend.

  • Ugly animation is still ugly animation. Sorry.

  • One of my favorite Fixx hits.

  • This is uber cool!

  • Great song, totally forgot about this one. Someone mentioned the Fixx today and I had to search for Fixx songs. Definately my favorite.

  • Easily my favorite Fixx song. Tragically underrated. It's one of those songs that can get me moving. Thanks for posting. Also the combo with Aeon Flux is right on. Good job.

  • thanks 4 this gr8 posting - i hadn't realised how many songs by The Fixx i liked while growing up...and the Streets of Fire soundtrack had some amazing tracks - Dan Hartman, etc...

  • Love the song. Best song they did. I have this on 45. Yes, a long version on a 45. How they did put it all on there I will never know, thinner groove I guess. Video pretty cool too. Good job.

  • This entire album (Reach the Beach) was great! Every song a hit in it's own right.

  • DAMN SHAME THIS SONG SO ROCKS

  • This is my all-time favorite Fixx song.

  • I agree, Great song.

  • That's Aeon Flux from the 90's

  • ANY 1 GOT THE REAL VID TO THIS

  • There isn't one

  • I remember seeing a video for this on MTV around the time the movie "Streets of Fire" was in cinemas--the video was clips from the movie only.

  • Excellent vid. thx cinecromancer for this posting.

    Regards from México

  • Awesome work. Beauty.

  • bring back liquid television. we need more aeon flux. awesome job! thanks
