Patient of Dr Ren Fielding - used SIL... Nothing to compare to but from reading the boards I seem to have had less trouble healing... less pain. Can feel port when palpating I am now 35 BMI. No one has had trouble finding the port when filling me (its usually Dr Ren Fielding, but Gaspar too got it first try). I ride dressage (horses) - uses lots of abs never have a problem, never feel it. Very happy patient :)
Apparently you place the port to the right of the midline, at the umbilicus incision. Have you had any problems with this port location? Is it difficult to access the port for adjustments? How about patient comfort? Great video... thanks.
For liver retraction, I use a percutaneously placed suture to retract the left lobe of the liver, creating a hammock to lift the liver, omiting the 5mm subxyphoid port.

I'd rather have my surgery performed through my navel, than through my stomach or colon. Why perforate a perfectly healthy organ?

good job done,future of single site surgery is bright but only for experts other wise the learning curve will digest it out.
