@DerFreiegedanke : technically, it wasnt a war. according to the American government, it was a policing action, but the casualties were high enough for it to be called a war, but no war declaration was ever made. But, the NVA and VC eventually won this 'conflict' because the US pulled out when Nixon became president, leaving it to the South Vietnamese Army, so the Communists (the North Vietnamese Army and the Viet Cong) won against the Democratic South Vietnam Army.
