@sand0609@bullmeatt not sure what you guys are trying to figure out. a mini 8.4 will have a discharge rate (C rating) of about 6 and a large 8.4 of about 8. also, metal internals will not prevent a lipo from causing damage. Lipos usually do not cause any extra damage. All aeg internals wear down, lipos just make them wear down quicker due to increased rof. you still get about the same amount of shots out of the parts.

They make alarms that you put on battery and when it reaches that point it will beep at you so you know to stop using it and switch batteries.
@trampmastr A lipo doesn't kill your gun because its a piece of shit, it kills it because it puts more rounds through the gearbox faster (An 11.1v battery will reach 50k rounds faster than an 8.4v nimh).
However, if your gun is shooting to fast at a low FPS then the piston would experience wear faster (because the piston isn't returning forward fast enough). The wiring and motors on some stock AEGs may also have problems with an 11.1v lipo, but otherwise most guns can cope.

crap, i just got my 3rd airsoft primary (GandG blowback m4 moe) sexy beast of a wepon but i can never know if it can use a lipo stock with out having to mess around with the inside, do you think itll fit one and if so would yo;urs be a good one? souds nice i play alot of cqb and high rof really healps
if you are outdoors then you do not need as much mAh since you usually shoot semi but if u play cqb like me you use full auto and need more mAh great vid
@DevinChief a standard 8.4v battery. The mah rating is how much energy the cell stores. That means that the battery will last a very long time (some poeple use a rule of 1mah = 1 shot), but you really won't see a ROF or power increase.
@clofan ROF will increase, the Large Type batteries (Only SubC can have 4000 mAh in AS with NiMh) have less electrical resistance inside the cells, so there is a higher current. Same thing goes with liPos, they may not have the voltage og a 12V NiMh, but they take the ROF from the current they can cycle through the system.
@DevinChief actually, when you have higher mah, lets say a 9.6 1600 mah vs. a 9.6 4500 mah. The bigger one will last you a lot longer, but the discharge rate is much higher, giving you a higher rate of fire(just a little)

what type of gears lol? systema supertorque or highspeed? i'd recommend using a li-po or highspeed, not both. this looks like a stock sr-16 and it gave it that rof. its not geared for speed.
well I'm not too entirely sure, because Redwolf installed them for me, I don't think I'm going to install the lipo because my gun is misfiring every other shot and I think the piston is stripped from a 9.6V :o so I'm not sure what I should do, should I just buy another piston, upgrade more? etc

But i replaced iit with a 2 year old bevel gear out of my crappy WELL m86 ak47. A very cheap crappy gun and its working cause i shimmed it right. Depends on the gun. I believe a JG will run on a 9.6 for a very long time. Most Classic Armys are set for 9.6 out of the box as well. There is very little harm in putting a 9.6v in a gun that came with an 8.4v, it's just a 1 cell difference.
Like I said, the 11.1v killed my gearbox at around 10k rounds, which is quite a lot, and even then only the sector gear broke.
Quality, easy. A teammate of mine plays with a self-built gun that shoots less than 350, but can reach further than any gun at most games. I don't remember the footage, but it was very long distance, and not to mention accurate for every shot.
Unfortunately, I have no experience with the ICS brand, although I've heard very good things. As far as models go, get what you want. I've had a P90 and an AUG, because I liked those guns, but have moved on to M4s (have 3 variants now) for...
...the customizations. I really don't think ICS will do you wrong, however remember that their gearboxes are unique (split top), so it may be harder to find replacement parts.
I wouldn't use a lipo, since it will probably strip your gearbox and only few airsoft guns are lipo ready and that JG SR16 wasnt'.What kind of gun is it?
Yeah, it ended up breaking a few gears after 8-10k rounds, which isn't bad at all.
A popular myth is that Lipos will kill a gun. They will not, it is the VOLTAGE that you have to worry about. A 7.2v lipo will not hurt a gearbox any more than a 8.4v NiCD/MH. The common lipo size for airsoft is 11.1v, which is a higher voltage than standard airsoft batteries, hence why they might kill your gearbox more often.
healthy batteries :), nice vid, but u must remeber to be not using whole LiPo batterys power couse them are going bad then, so when u stop airsoft, dont put teh LiPos on to dis-charger. One guy said that when he did get teh LiPos. :)
Because it will not charge your battery correctly, and it'll probably blow up, as seen in other YouTube videos. Unless it is meant specifically for LiPos, do not use it.

Lipos are 3.7v cells, standard NiCD or NiMH are in 1.2v cells. Without some resistors, it would be impossible to use the same voltage battery.

It's a good battery. The voltage and mAh rating are what determine performance, you can get a cheap bad one just like anything else.
I wouldn't recommend any other type of charger besides smart.

Depends on the gun. I believe a JG will run on a 9.6 for a very long time. Most Classic Armys are set for 9.6 out of the box as well. There is very little harm in putting a 9.6v in a gun that came with an 8.4v, it's just a 1 cell difference.
Like I said, the 11.1v killed my gearbox at around 10k rounds, which is quite a lot, and even then only the sector gear broke.

Quality, easy. A teammate of mine plays with a self-built gun that shoots less than 350, but can reach further than any gun at most games. I don't remember the footage, but it was very long distance, and not to mention accurate for every shot.
Unfortunately, I have no experience with the ICS brand, although I've heard very good things. As far as models go, get what you want. I've had a P90 and an AUG, because I liked those guns, but have moved on to M4s (have 3 variants now) for...

I wouldn't use a lipo, since it will probably strip your gearbox and only few airsoft guns are lipo ready and that JG SR16 wasnt'.What kind of gun is it?

Yeah, it ended up breaking a few gears after 8-10k rounds, which isn't bad at all.
A popular myth is that Lipos will kill a gun. They will not, it is the VOLTAGE that you have to worry about. A 7.2v lipo will not hurt a gearbox any more than a 8.4v NiCD/MH. The common lipo size for airsoft is 11.1v, which is a higher voltage than standard airsoft batteries, hence why they might kill your gearbox more often.

the good thing about airsoft is that you can replace the inside. if he has a metal gearbox the only thing he needs to replace is the bushings

healthy batteries :), nice vid, but u must remeber to be not using whole LiPo batterys power couse them are going bad then, so when u stop airsoft, dont put teh LiPos on to dis-charger. One guy said that when he did get teh LiPos. :)

Because it will not charge your battery correctly, and it'll probably blow up, as seen in other YouTube videos. Unless it is meant specifically for LiPos, do not use it.
