@dirtbikelover7 I love Great Big Sea and think they're amongst the best live bands ever, but this band wrote the song and, however brilliantly GBS covered it, this is the definitive version.
Oysterband, GBS and Runrig are 3 of the best bands on the planet. Get all their albums; there's not a bad one amongst them.
me either - i was 15 or 16 when i first got hooked to them, hehehehe. i would recommend getting ALL their cds you can get your hands on, especially pearls from the oysters and granite years. my favorite songs by them are coal not dole/bells of rhymney, one green hill, granite years, not like jordan, and between the wars.
I'd love to see these guys do something with Gogol Bordello =)

Great Big Sea are great, they covered this and I found Oysterband through them.
And Runrig of course :D So you get English, Canadian and Scottish Folk Rock.

Must be at least 12 years since I saw them the last time.
Hope it won´t take another 12 years until they come to my area.

Two of my favourite Oyster songs ever. If they came to my area, I'd be at all their shows.
