I really like the old well built equipment without all the safety crap. I know how to work safe & I won't allow you to use it if you don't. People now are too stupid, so they need some kind of nanny to protect them. - If you disagree & are one of the ones that need protecting then I guess that pretty much says it all. - Don't bother telling me about how accidents cause injury or death, I already know that & don't care to hear it from you. - Again it speaks volumes about you. Scared?, don't use.
I need a good number of Gravely Walk Behind with a Rotary Head Cutter attachment for cutting down Gorse, Black Berry, Juli Flora bushes in our fields. I also need a chipper attachment which would chip the cut bushes and branches on the field. Can someone help me in getting the right source with contact details. My mail ID is lvrlokesh@gmail.com. 00919948166772, 00919393796007. I require atleast 10 machines + Cutter Attachments + Chipper Attachments for India.
Hey thats cool! I just bought one yesterday ! I'm going to put it on my commercial 12.I don't think it was ever used.A little rusty but I'm going to get it sharpened and the teeth set. I have the half guard on mine thankfully because it looks scary as hell.
That's a 106 attachment head, right? Is your Gravely an L or a C model? Also, is that the original blade or aftermarket? I just got my C running and have the bush hog on the 106, but need to do exactly what you're doing in this vid. Thanks in advance.
you could actually puul a pin on the attachment and it will let the blade come up vertical were you can drive the grvely onto a stand and make another stand and put would on it and cut fire wood length logs with.
I think that these machines came without guards because back then, people just generally weren't as dumb as they are now and were much more careful around equipment. Too many city-slickers getting their parts chopped off prompted tougher safety laws. Just my two cents
Cheers for the comment, but i spose crossing the road is dangerous too and using a bench saw is fairly dangerous too, but gravely did make these saw attachments and this is how they come , some with a guard and some without.
amazingly not much does fly around with this blade , even if i let it cut into a pile of stones, i spose because the blade is thin,it just vibrates its way through..where as with a gravely mower attachment it chucks sticks and stones out the front..but yes you are right, these are dangerous and not for the light hearted..
i have been looking for a gravely tractor it is a pain in the ass trying to find one here in Quebec (i am not french)lol. just want to say nice gravely.
Looks pretty illegal to me... but then Downunder anything goes, like using propane for refrigerant in a car air conditioner.

I had one of these that came with a shroud to prevent anything from flying back. It was factory but I'm sure it was an extra cost option.

I used one with a brush hog for making money for a couple of years. A man killer machine. My spine will never be the same.

One design flaw: the hollow tube handlebars on these machines break easily where the bolts go through. In fact, I broke my left side one today :(

thats exactly right. dumbasses kept chopping up their feet is the reason that push mowers have that little rubber flap behind them

i am not all about safety or anything just an open blade wouldn't like sticks and rocks go flying ?

And once upon a time Gravely made a chainsaw attachment for the walk behinds. IMO the scariest thing I've seen in a long time.

I have that attachment, but haven't used it yet. Great video!
