@ALean127 Thanks so much for the info!!! It's so awesome to hear from people associated with this movie and other East Coast independent film making pioneers and effects artists.
Love this movie! Not sure if its covered in these comments, but if there is a website where i could purchase any CD's by Atlantis, please post a link, id love to get one ! Great memories here!
I too saw this movie when I was a kid and was BLOWN AWAY by its originality and creativity and it still is a great movie to me I have it in my collection and always watch it very well shot for its time period. I am an independent film maker and would LOVE to shoot a re-make of this if I can get a hold of the people who own the rites to it. Would even like to have original cast members back for it. And the band performing too. To great of a movie not to honor its work!
I can't remember if they used the real name of the bar in the movie or not but it was called the 'Anir Lounge'. The name was a combination of my grandparents names, Ann & Ira. I believe they sold it in the early 80's and it is now called Timber Creek Tavern.
Thanks for the great info! I can't believe how many people involved with this film have contacted me or posted a comment. It goes to show the great comradery among East Coast filmmakers.
Well .... I have more to share. Once I found out my sister was in a movie (This was after I saw and watched Don Dohler shooting NightBeast around the corner from where I lived and grew up) I contacted him and he invited me over to watch Alien Factor. Many, Many years later I saw him on TV and found out he had a website. I contacted him and ended up working on his last couple of films with him. I just wish I could have had a lot more time to work with him. He is missed!
I saw this movie when I was just a little kid real early in the morning. I vaguely remember some of the scenes about the monsters, but for a 70's B movie i recall it being pretty good.
LOVED ALIEN FACTOR!!! And this song as well. Nothing captures the 1970s better then this! Don Dohler was AWEESOME! A true gem in the indipendant film arena. Thanks to Dohler and his truely talented crew.
I thought maybe I had gotten the title wrong, but I didn't! The Alien Factor exists! I'm sorry for writing too much on your video but today was a good day on YouTube! lol thanks again
I've loved B-films my whole life and if anyone ever asked me what I consider the absolute favorite I'd say THE ALIEN FACTOR, not a second thought. It even trumps Romero's original Dawn of the Dead for me (Not an easy task). This movie is the crown jewel of all cult films imo THANK U FOR POSTING
lol I had to come back for a 2nd comment. You don't understand, I've been to some of the most diehard underground B-movie shops I could find; businesses whose sole existence is to catalog and find rare B-films and they never heard of this movie .. Everybody here who knows of this film LOL you're all like my family now LOL no joke
I wasn't hallucinating! lol this movie exists! It's been on YT for a year but I had given up looking! I'm so glad I tried again lol
I've been looking for any evidence that this film even existed! I remember seeing it when I was a teen at 3 in the morning on TV. Was it a dream? lol NO! At last another living soul(s) knows of this film. My all-time favorite, pleeeezz post more! The aliens were unforgettable! I remember a scene of one of them walking around a woman's laundry, outside her house lol Please post the movie ;)
no joking this is one of my favorite, umm, 'unique' songs. I know a coupla 80s Canadian bands that attempted to cover it but could not get it going anything like "Atlantis" hehehe, great to hear it after so many years.
According to the credits, the band was called "Atlantis". This song is called "Maybe Someday". There is another song by them called "Jump Back, Crackerjack" that can be heard playing in the background of the bar just before this scene begins. Also, both songs can be heard playing on radios in the background of other scenes in the film. This band appears to have had no commercial success to speak of, judging from the lack of material about them on the internet.
This was a real band. I've met the singer/guitarist(Dave Aquino, AKA Lon Talbot).A friend of mine played bass after the name changed from Atlantis to The Lon Talbot Group. "Maybe Someday" is the b-side of "Moby Shark". It's a single that deserves more attention in record collector's circles. I covered "Maybe Someday"in a band called West Franklin.
I have a tape of some of their other tunes that garage rock geeks would flip over. It's right up there with George Brigman's Jungle Rot album.
I've always talked up this single whenever I'm around garage rock enthusiasts, hoping it'll get the attention it deserves. Pity the guitar solo is cut in the movie, it's very Pete Townsend
My very good friend's father (Dave Ellis) helped make this film. He was the actual bassist for the recording of this song.

So cool to hear from anyone who had anything to do with any of these classic no budget flix. Definitely a classic.
This song ROX!
I could be wrong because IMDB doesn't say it, but isn't the bas guitarist the guy who got his guts ripped out in Nightbeast on the porch?

This is by far the most memorable scene in a very memorable cult film. Great song.

A note to vintage guitar buffs, he's playing a pretty rare CF Martin archtop electric from the 60's.
