I have been a Manics fan since before Generation Terrorists came out & Lifeblood is my favorite album of theirs. With the exception of two songs, I think it's a masterpiece. 1985 is my favorite song of theirs & it always gets me choked up. I've never cared about a technically sloppy performance if the spirit & passion is there, & it's there in this performance. I think Q magazine called Lifeblood "miserable & insipid." It all boils down to personal taste, but I think that's overboard.
The Manics are without doubt one of the greatest bands ever to come out of Britain.
What other band has so effortlessly combined intelligent, thoughtful lyrics,a social conscience, pure rock passion and heart-stoppingly beautiful melodies as consistently as these guys?
None,
They are legends.
This song sends a shiver down my spine. Everything they refer to here strikes such a chord with me.
@foucault12 erasure , the circus , hallowed ground , phantom bride , crown of thornes , it dosnt have to be like that ,star . all excelent songs for the people . i love the manics and erasure or any other songs that represent the masses .
look at this band they can tour the world from London to Japan but they never can do gigs in places like Europe, for example Poland or Romania it's really ashame

Lifeblood is their best album. Brilliant.
Unfortunately this was a very sloppy performance. The singer was all over the place- out of tune, and even forgot the lines
