From watching and listening to interviews of Carlin it's very obvious that George is, in real life, a very humble and cheery guy. Most of the stuff he jokes about he doesn't actually believe to the extent that he says in his acts. (though he does hate organized religion) But by and large he seems like a good guy and probably doesn't mean what he says.
