Well, Kirby was always suposed to be pink, but another creator imagined him to be yellow. Because of the confusion, and since the game was for GB so there were only shades of grey, Nintendo of America made Kirby white on the commercial, box art... Even though, on the Japanese box art, he was pink.

I hate to say this, but I believe that this ad makes Kirby seem a bit more aggressive than intended by the games creators.
