The beauty of the Zenith STOL is that it's a tricycle gear bushplane - well suited for low time pilots unlike taildraggers. You can fly it in the US with the Sport Pilot license.

I'm guessing that this improves the safety of the flying. Being able to slow down to a degree where you hit the ground slower than you would with a parachute, when the fertilizer hits the windmill...

It's built for slow speeds. Full span flaperons, and front wing slats.

very easy to control at low speeds. with a 20 knot head wind, you can land with a ground roll of about 10 feet.

I've landed mine on an R/C runway, river banks, acerages, even on a sawmill roof ...pretty much anywhere I wanted.

cruise speed on the other hand sucks. 85mph.
