It is gross and painful looking but I had it done due chronic sinusitis. It help me a lot and has prevent many doses of antibiotics/steroids.

Please tell me that you are put under for this procedure? I read that they do these at times under a local. No way. I want to be OUT when I have this done, soon. I have chronic left maxillary sinus disease with some bony changes.

@pris72 the put you under for the surgery if they don't demand to be put under! I have had it done the recovery is not that bad just a sore nose for a little bit.

I might get this done because my doctor keeps giving antibiotic and a spray for my sinus, but its the same its not getting any better. I always have pain around my face mostly my eyes OMG I can't even sleep. I have a question I don't know if anyone can answer it . Can sinus infection effect the way you talk or just pounces words correctly?

leo- First, you don't get immune to Augmentin- what may happen is that one of 2 options exist. 1. you have an infection that is not treatable by augmentin because the organism is either immune or you have a fungal infection. or 2. The sinusitis is not due to infection but may be more allergic in nature. All ENTs would recommend Saline nasal wash. Also you probably need a nasal steroid spray which is a prescription. You can try Allergra-D for allergic reactions and NSAID 4 pain.

I just have a question: im 15 and i get sinus infections constantly. If i am immune to augmenton (strongest sinus antibiotic) is there another option before surgery to cure the worst infection of my life? I cant even put my head on my pillow because the pain is so great. What do i do???!? Please help me

I had this when I was a little kid about 13 years ago maybe, and the Doctor said I might need it doing again multiple times throughout my life, lately I have suffered from my Sinus', so I think it's about that time... I wasn't scared at all until I watched this, I'm rather squeamish LOL. xD

i have had two surgeries and i am still prone to sinus infections..it always begins on the left side.i have taken so many antibiotics in the last ten years i worry that im becoming immune.. i wish there was a real cure

i am like you but I became immune to almost every type of antibiotics and I am allergic to penicillin, I have had 4 surgeries, wonder what's next, hope you get better!
