Thats what you get when you believe someone else. Do you understand how a red giant is formed? Nuclear fussion. They also thought the earth was flat. In conclusion you better not take a cruise ship to the edge of the earth. Enjoy your flat earth closed minded reality.
@Rodger2727 Rodger... if you are implying that the Earth is a star, and therefore expanding due to nuclear fussion... then it is not I that is believing someone else.
Rodger... you mention "they"... who is they?
As for the flat Earth nonsense... you seem to have assumed that I am some religious nut job that believes in such lunacy.
Rodger, I would call you a moron... but I do not want to insult morons.
Maybe reading, or having someone read for you, is in order?
You have multiple 500 word limits. Do not be dishonest and claim otherwise, for we both have made multiple posts at once.
Try looking up "differentiation" and then enlighten me as to your education in the field of geology and physics, which are the topics of this discussion.
I have a degree in geology and understand what you do when you paste a portion from an abstract.
Generally this means that you did not bother to read the entire paper and are quote mining.
Unfortumately, the core is hot The temperature of the inner core can be estimated using experimental and theoretical constraints on the melting temperature of impure iron at the pressure (330 GPa) of the inner core boundary, yielding estimates of 5700 K (9800.6 ºF, 5427 ºC). The range of pressure in Earth's inner core is about 330 to 360 GPa (over 3,000,000 atm), and iron can only be solid at such high temperatures because its melting temperature increases dramatically at these high pressures.
Strange that you neglected to post the rest of the abstract:
"the inner core starts growing and cools by conduction; it is found that it cannot have reached its present size in more than 1.7 billion years. If the heat flux delivered to the mantle becomes less than that conducted down the adiabat, the temperature profile becomes subadiabatic in a shell at the top of the core, through which heat is evacuated by conduction...
...Although it is stable against thermal convection, this shell is not necessarily stagnant and may be the seat of motions owing to compositional convection."
Posting the entire abstract is useful... and less dishonest... do you not think?
They expand due to the heat... heat being the cause of expansion... then they cool.
But with the Earth, it has a renewable heating system... meaning that additional heat is added after expansion, maintaining a constant heat while having a greater surface area. The interior remains the same temperature, therefore expansion should be a runaway process. It is not, because the concept is silly at best.
If those hypotheses are correct and the earth WAS IN FACT 7000k that doesn't instantly invalidate the theory. Sure things with the same density and mass shrink as they are cooled but not 100% proportional to the amount of cooling. Furthermore where did all of the energy go? If you add mass to thermal energy/heat it will appear to cool however the same energy would be simply dissipated. So if this mass was added at a gradual rate over a period millions of years...do you get where this is going?
And why in the name of physics did the heat stop going into space? Why isn't it going into space as the earth continually heats up today?
The place this is going is in the post, if the VOLUME of the earth increased, then it would follow the constant avg temperature throughout would decrease. Just as if you take the contents of a small hot container and put it in a bigger one the average reading would drop though the energy and heat remained the same. I think this is thermodynamic law not sure
It looks like geology is where your 'expertise' ends sir.
Also you have a difficult time dealing with analogies or dramatization....lastly flippant humor in the face of scientific inquiry lost it's chuckle value for me in high school, but that's for the flashback
I hope you are being funny and not this "person" you are pretending to be, and if you consider "LOL" worthy of a response in earnest your issue is a lot bigger than EE...
Btester, you claim to have a physics degree, yet claim that we don't know what gravity and electricity are? Um, methinks someone is pulling our chain! If not, you need a refund on your 'degree' LOL
Gravity is the least understood force in existence, we almost do not now what gravity is, all we know is that it pulls. Electricity as well is not completely understood.
Newtons theory of gravity does not explain WHY objects attract one another
(why things fall to the ground)- it only models this observation. It does not work with putting up satellites. You think it would. I asked a physicist on this.
Atoms and black holes have gravitational fields and they are not even solid with tons of space between them.
GRAVITY REQUIRES A SOLUTION LMAO YOU HAVE NO PHYSICS DEGREE THE COSMOCOLOGICAL CONSTANT IS SOLUTION TO GRAVITY BUT EINSTEIN NEVER FOUND IT THATS WHY HE SAID HIS THEORY WAS INCOMPLETE YOU SAY THAT YOU WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP BELIEVING WHAT THEY SEE ON YOUTUBE WHY? ARE YOU A CLOSET COMMUNIST? do you not the right to express alternate opinions? Are you aware that science is proggresion? it always has been stop making your self look stupid :)
Gravity: The natural phenomenon utilized by objects with mass (everything) are attrached to eachother.
There is a guy named Sir Isaac Newton, google him.
Electricity: Electrically charged matter (subatomic particles) , the flow, the capacity, the influence and the work potential of these particles. Electricity has been observed and noted for millenia.
Electricity: What is an electric charge made Of? It's still a mystery.
Lot's of theories. We are good at measuring the electrical phenomena!!!
Read a book you say. Well I'm sure you watch your television "programming" every night. Science tells us global warming is real too. That's baloney isn't it.
Electricity: What is an electric charge made Of? It's still a mystery."
Both, asked and answered.
Read a fucking book or two, please, I beg you.
It is difficult to believe that you have a degree in physics by the nonsense you have posted. It seems more likely that you took a physics class that you skipped a lot, or slept through.
Yay for religion! Fucking sad smh.

If you fail to understand why I posted the concept of differentiation, then you sadly fail to understand it and its application here.

The comment I made,
"The Earth has not expanded. No evidence for it. ",
if taken in context, was concerning expansion due to heat, not accretion.
Remember the name of the video you watched and are posting on?
"messiahjonz addresses the Earth's heat and expansion"
Please try to have some semblance of honesty in your posts.

Again, you quote me out of context.
There is no "expansion"...
there is accretion.
That was your final comment, thanks for playing.

Sir, things that expand necessarily cool because the energy density reduces.
FMMAROTO 2 years ago
You have the order in reverse.

Space.
No, I do not like to assume "where someone is going." Please be specific.

"And why in the name of physics did the heat stop going into space?"
Why would you assume such a thing? The earth is still cooling, and the heat is still going into space.
You speak of the expanding as if it occurred over night, and the temperatures fall as if it were "a small hot container"...LOL
Total nonsense.

I have a physics degree and it's amazing what you learn on youtube. Speak for yourself sir.
So we shouldn't question and accept everything. History(His Story) is always correct.
They don't even know what gravity is, what electricity is. If science is so perfect as to know everything, then why isn't basic gravity solved.
btester1 2 years ago
I always do speak for myself, thank you.
Some things require no question.
Can I breath air? Yes, it goes without saying.
History is a different topic and discipline.
"They don't even know what gravity is..."
"THEY" Who the fuck is they?
Science knows nothing, science is the tool that humans utilize to explain observations.
I was not aware that gravity required a "solution."
It is obvious that you are not using this physics degree.
Please think before you type.
messiahjonz 2 years ago
Can I ask what things require no question?
Gravity isn't fully understood.
Newtons theory of gravity does not explain WHY objects attract one another
(why things fall to the ground)- it only models this observation. It does not work with putting up satellites. You think it would. I asked a physicist on this.
Atoms and black holes have gravitational fields and they are not even solid with tons of space between them.
btester1 2 years ago
I gave you an example of a question that need not be asked, the remaining list would be exhaustive.
You stated this:
"They(some mysterious "they") don't even know what gravity is, what electricity is."
As I supported, the scientific community knows what gravity and electricity are.
You now change your statement to not fully understanding them... enough said.
As I stated previously, ALL matter has a gravitational force, no matter how big or small.
By the way, atoms are matter!

Gravity requires a solution?
I wish that made sense.
True, no physics degree, but took 3 1/4's for my degree.
As for the cosmo constant, I wish you understood it better.
Because YT is not scientific, any asshat can post a "theory" and some dickhead will believe it.
Alternate opinions should be published for peer review, not for Youtuber review.
Typing in all caps, calling me a communist and misspelling words makes you look less than silly.
I have no worries, I hope you get an education

"Lot's of theories"?
Ignoring that this is a sentence fragment... how can you make "Lot's" possessive? Unless you are referring to a person named Lot?
"Programming" huh? Another conspiracy theorist it seems, LOL!
Actually, global warming is occurring, naturally and with the aid of humans.
The Earth is still in a glacial period (ice age) due to glaciers present on the Earth. It has been wanning for millenia.
Humans have added to this process, believe it or not.
