I totally like the Dick Dale soundtrack a lot better then the new one, but probably because I grew up with it. I still think it deserves another go around.

Basically, the three soundtracks give me:

Dick Dale:Adventure, Epicness, Mysterious

Michael:Wonder, Adventure

Mission 2:Vaguely Threatening, especially at the end.

I LOVE this, and listening to this while in the ride felt amazing. Even if it doesn't fit (becuase of the space ships and all that) its still awesome. The new is good, but I dont have the same feeling as to riding the coaster with the old song....

@HomeTownProductions4 it's an adaptation of Saint Saen's "Aquarium" from the Carnival Sweet... the orchestral version is used in about 8 million movies and commericals

It's called "Aquarium" and is a cover of a song by Camille Saint-Saëns. It's from their work "The Carnival of the Animals"

Just because people state their opinions saying they like the new SM gives you people no reason to thumb down the comment. If I wanted I could thumb down all comments saying the old SM is better, but I wont because I RESPECT others opinions...jeez

This song is interesting, but I must admit that I like the Michael Giachino on the new Space Mountain a lot more.

Really? I feel just the opposite. I like the Michael Giacchino music, but I think the Dick Dale was was more rockin' and effective on the ride.

You can find a video with the music in the gallery on the Visions Fantastic forum, but you'd have to register.

Never knew Dick Dale did this song. Though it figures--he IS the King of Surk Guitar!

it did back in the 90's when they added this sound track to the ride, but like you I also like the new one a little bit better.

@metroid567 Totally epic and fitting song for this ride. It was composed by a master TO fit this ride. The ride has no appeal to me now with the cheesy new soundtrack on it. This song seriously got me into surf music. Check out the music from California Screamin', writen by Dick Dale's good friend Gary Hoey.
