    5 million sold...billions of rounds...great gun...all correct!!!!!!

people who fire due to negligence....alter the gun??? idiots!!!!

could they have a flaw ? YES small problem or huge problem? well dumb sses if you are one of the 4,989,000 owners who have had 0 misfires than shut the hl up! good for you...per numbers it is a relitivley small problem.if you are one!!! or two of the individuals who have been effected by the small flaw then the small flaw is BIG

cnbc is full of shi...but if the 700 could be improved to have 0 misfires then that is the issue I was with my younger brother in a deer blind talking about our kids and ect

I can attest to the fact that my 700 30-06 went off without my finger near the trigger missed him by 12" +/-

whats the point ? that 5 million cant relate but 100 can Bullsh think about the 100 or maybe 50 of the 100 that can relate

    sorry about venting

  • 'fess up and fix the problem

  • Guess you all like to ingore the fact that the gun designer hiimself admits that the mechanism is faulty.

  • Looks like another anti gun tactic to sue a fine firearm manufacture out of existence. Even if there was a misfire as you closed the bolt, as long as you fallow the safety rules that apply to firearms, there should not be an issue of an individual getting injured in that event.

  • and possibly the problem may just be in newer models if there is a problem with your rifle doing this then you should take it in to a reliable gunsmith and have it checked out...

  • I have owned my rem 700 bdl in .270 cal for about 22 years and have never had a round go off unless I squeezed the trigger. not saying there is not a problem but those having this problem may just need to give the weapon a good cleaning.I am no expert on the matter but if the rifle goes off when closing the bolt sounds to me like the firing pin may be gummed up and sticking.the Remington company has always built reliable weapons and if there is a flaw in the mechanics of it we will see a recall
