thank you for this great video. Tom Brumley is my Dad. He passed away February 3, 2009. He is missed, loved & admired beyond words. I shared this on my FB. Thanks again !!
I do remember hearing this song riding with my dad, he had this album on 8 Track and played it a lot. Thanks for posting it, now I can hear it whenever I want!
This is what country music is missing today. It doesn't have the twang of the 50's & 60's. If a song's too country, stations won't play it. Country has become too popish in order to appeal to the yuppies.
Tom Brumley was a great steel player and might not still be with us by the time you read this. Last I heard he was critically ill and the life support machine had been switched off.
This is one of the all time great country songs and I like Buck's version, especially the steel, but I don't think anybody has ever touched the original Wynn Stewart version of this song. Too bad real country like this is pretty well gone even tho Alan Jackson did cut this a year or two ago.
Brumley was the only one to ever rival Ralph Mooney as the greatest steel-guitarist!

Sorry to hear about it. That would be a great loss. Saw him live with Buck, then later with Rick Nelson. Nice guy.
