  • That's what I've learned to play first. :)

  • This was composed by Christian Petzold, please change the title.

  • was this his only minuet in G major? The one I'm looking for starts off like so (Right hand) D D D B AB[eigth notes] G

  • Why always has to be so robotic for classicists??? I'm not talking about this guy playing the piano.. I'm talking about all guys playing music like robots.. without fellings.. I'm sure Bach composed this for future generations enjoyed it.. But no.. some people insist in playing like a freaking robot!!!!

  • If anyone wants to sing to this, there was a pop song made in the 70's or 80's appropriating the tune. Also, there's a cracking good reindition of it in the movie "Electric Dreams". It's definitely not for purists. In fact, neither are.

  • damn. i'm in beginner piano in school, and this version is nothing compared to the baby version. funny thing is that this song gave me more trouble than any other song in the book. do you know what that means? I'm gonna be a whack pianist forever.

    T^T

  • what's the lyrics so i can singit while playing the piano

  • @sophiapuposchannel Wait? Are you serious? It's a piece, not a song; it doesn't have vocals?...

  • @WWIIStudy101 i have to learn this is 2 DAYS and im 11!!!

  • oooo wow...muy bien!

  • why don't all the wise guys here show us how it's done

  • debes usar los dedos apropiados

  • @ChichosBlues lo usa toca perfectamente bien tempo, posicion todo es correcto

  • bello ma i cosa c'entravano i sedicesimi?

  • Cut out the grace notes and make play it again. Either that, or make it sound for classical. And you need more bass

  • Great job!!!!! :D

  • Amazing, thank you =)

  • more fantasy p-lease.

  • podrias sacar un n tutorial ????

  • Well played!

  • Comment removed

  • Very good! Just gives you a rush of a semitone, and I go straight in some parts! More was very good

  • Nice job!

  • Well I wish it sounded liket hat when I played it XD haha

  • i can play it too.. but i cant master the left hand.. hehe :)

nahsluj1 your right.. i know what is the original piece so i noticed that he played differently from the original.. like in 0:6-0:7 and 0:31-0:32

  • i can play it too.. but i cant master the left hand.. hehe :)

  • WoW :)

  • Stacattoed a little to much but other than that it was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • don't modify the piece...play as it is written..

  • @nahsluj1 Considering the piece was originally written for harpsichord where dynamics could not be controlled remember that was originally a dance.

  • A little too staccato... and I'm not a huge fan of the mordants. That is a personal preference though. I'm sure they went over well when the piece was composed. All frilly and what not.

  • excellent ;)

  • The girl group know as "The toys" added lyrics and played this 3/4 song in 4/4 time and called it Lovers' Concerto.("How Gentle is the Rain")

  • :X

  • I've always wanted to know what this music is - thanks :). I wish I could play the piano :(.

  • @Sunflowers159 its easy if you have a piano do you?

  • You played great! ;]

  • EFTELING!!!

  • Brilliant!

  • :) i like it very much :)

  • @JDawgBro86 Bach.

  • excellent play!

  • cuanto no quisiera por tener un piano como este!!

  • Played without expression like a robot! My teacher would be shouting now xd

  • wow awesome

  • Awesome song....but too many trills

  • dude dont listen to assholes xD that song is awesome in all ways its played so congrats... (:

  • pokaż cycki!

  • This is actually a simple piece, I learned it before I took Grade 1. The score I had was far simpler than yours though

  • if you search on bach, you know that at 1:25 is not staccato, and portable. Find out about this. learn to play Bach and correctly will be much more pleasuring for people who understand bach, you hear ringing. and her piano teacher taught you well, tell him what's wrong. In staccato bach there. staccato all you're doing is wrong. Because he played harpsichord and at that time the technology did not allow the staccato was conducted.

  • In reply to those commenting on the use of grace notes; he did not improvise them. I had to learn this exact same version(grace notes and all) of the piece for one of my classical theory courses at university a couple of years back. They may be not be in the original composition, but there is certainly another version that does have them. So with that in mind, I think he played this really well.

  • @jackalan88 i agree i thought this was the original way though o.o

  • @jackalan88 You have to keep in mind that most people who are "correcting" or "criticizing" this are not classically trained in anything except criticizing things they know nothing about. This young man did a great job.

  • I hear this song everytime I go to music study. some 4 year old next door. i feel like suicide. who ever plays it must perpously hit every wrong note. but your good;

  • i love your piano!

  • i luv this song :) and the goiod thing it isnt hard nor easy :DDDD

  • Thanks for posting! I wanted to try playing minuet in g minor along with this piece, and it was a fun duet :)

  • The grace notes just seem misplaced. They're all good and well, but you have to make them sound just as they are named - gracefully with the piece.

  • Those grace notes are pretty annoying and they don't make you look better at playing the piano. :/

  • your really good

:( wish i was that good'

  • i have a duet of that

  • nice!! =)) play the pedal would be nicer ;))

  • how come mine is different? which score are you using? i'm using the suzuki music school's

  • @scrumpilicious suzuki is for idiots. no offense :) just learn the notes. i study under a professor, but im sure it's easy to train yourself.

  • what do you press at... 0:05-0;06 ... and also at like.. 0:09

    the fast bit?

  • Omg!!! This is the exact song I'm playon the piano right now!!!! Great Job

  • I'm playing this song on the piano and you are way better than me!!! Great Job

  • i can play Minuet G major im 9, But not the full part like your playing.. I learned Minuet from Michael Aaron's Grade 2 Book.

  • goooooooooooood...........

  • I think I remember playing this on the clarinet at one time in class. . . I most definitely CANNOT play this on the piano though. I like it ;} It's really good

  • i can play it too..LoL but you can play MORE better than me..

  • good!!! but it is not bach!!! this is cristian something...

  • @tomeraridor Question for the music maestro, how do you manage to breathe?

  • @tomeraridor it is bach...

  • @emilio1012 no!!! this is not!!!!Recently discovered that it was not Bach

  • @tomeraridor This from Johan Sebastian Bach, no doubt about it.

  • @VRichardsn

This is from the "little notebook" of Anna Magdalena Bach. Current music scholars are inclining to the consensus that Christian Petzold composed the piece, however.

  • i know it cause my freind plays it but i figured out some of it. they call me a prodigy

  • i can play it. im like only to the 3rd page though. but im workin on on it. i dont put all tha lil fancy stuff in it though. i play it like it is on the paper :b

  • thanks mate

  • Not staccato, and portable. Ass. Just take your finger and the note is hit it the other and not the staccato. It sucks.

  • Thats beautiful! I really dig it!

  • i play this on baritone *owned*

  • @anointedkeys2010

    Shhhhhh

  • Why must you make it look so easy T^T

  • its ok :|

  • sounds like the sims :)

  • thank you for this,i love it ,,

  • @Carlokoz I'm sorry i even commented, but in my edition, the trill is 1 2 1 and then 1 2 3 4 (passing the thumb after the trill)

  • You did a nice job. by the way ^_^

  • i know the first few lines on glockenspiel...that's about it XD

  • music sheet plz?

  • What a weird fingering you've figured out for the trills!! I think 2 1 2 would be best than 1 2 1, if you understand me, 'cause you won't be able to speed it that much because of the awkwardness...

  • @MrPianomouse if it were 2 1 2 the trill would of screwup the fingering for the rest of the song. she would go 3 4 5 - then lift her whole hand to play 5 again which makes it sound sloppy and unsmooth

  • MUY BIEN!!!

  • Absolutely beautiful! I can duet with you to make lovers concerto by the Toys?

  • I thought this would be edited to make it sound scary.

  • are there really that many 16th or grace notes in this piece. or is this your interpretation of the song

  • @strawberryclaire17 no, theres really that many

  • Trying to do this on Guitar is difficult... of course I am just learning to play on the guitar. :)

  • @kccoolguy I'm learning it too.

  • The addition of the ornamentation wad good, but it would have been better if you had shown dynamic contrast. Overall though nice job :)

  • i learnt this like 9 months ago, and then i moved to singapore, i finally got a transformer for my piano yesterday, and i played the whole thing end to end without one mistake!! but when i tried again, my sister came in and started harping about me obsessed with piano's, and i immediately lost my concentration. when i tried again, i was concentrating very hard on the piece. for some reason, i kept making mistakes. i realized that i didn't remember the tune, but my fingers did!! it was soo cool!!

  • cool! I like how you added your own twist!

  • I have no idea on how to learn it from this video D:

  • i see toys at the far side of the piano. do you work for a daycare?

  • nice song ^_^

  • According to sources this is not Bach's.. but very beautiful piece...

  • @paopaomanalansan of course this is bach´s...

  • i learnt the whole thing, but i do a version without the fiddly bits!

  • love the trills

  • I learned this on guitar, i'm currently working on piano, but it's a bit tougher. I would upload a video, but i'm too shy

  • @GirlHeroBoyZero you shouldn't care about other peoples opinions just do it for fun

  • i think i've got the chords down for this and i know i have the melody, but it's so hard to play smoothly >___< must practice practice.

  • great job! there is no way i could play like you ....i am playing right hand chords (only) in my 5th grade cristmas concert (i was to lazy to learn left hand chordsXD) and i am pretty proud because i learned the part (from after the firt two lines) all in three days!! i was sitting at the piano all day, now i have to figure out the timing....

  • Comment removed

  • i play this minuet with the guitar. it'a very nice :)

  • C'est très bien, me tu dois pratiquer!!!...

  • omgad xD; i have to learn this and i only have the first two lines of the right hand down. teacher hasn't gone over the chords yet >___<

  • bien muy bien eccelente todo esta bien las manos dedos

    tiempo muy bien

  • This player has no feeling, nor dynamics.

  • This was composed by Beethoven.

  • @superducky2250

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA good joke.

It was composed by Christian Petzold

  • @voleveruntopus777 lol, or was it rachmaninoff?

  • @voleveruntopus777 hahaha

  • mmm dot like at all,the thing yo do with de fingers trying to do somtething extra to the song doesnt fix weel

  • Comment removed

  • @Sandris705 They're written in, it's called a turn.

  • coolness

  • this is one of the easiest songs to learn ever!! learned it a few years ago and i still enjoy playing it ^^

lmao!! still cant read sheet music though XD

  • she needs to slow down, she going to fast and she's missed keys and parts of the piece. she's alright but there's room for improvement

  • I've played this on Trombone for NYSSMA :D

  • grace notes arent in the original composition

  • @JordanJuno916

They were in a transcribed edition of Anna Magdalena's notebook that I purchased in a music store... taking them out for performance on instruments other than harpsichords is what came later.

  • @JordanJuno916 Actually, there are mordents in the original composition. He's playing it right.

  • i learnt this in like 10 mins and i dont even play piano :S

  • I mastered this song when i was in grade six, but havnt played in years and can only play it with the right hand now :/

  • @eldindrljevic aww shut up.

  • very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bua..yo la sabia tocar pero ya me olvide tocas bien...

  • I only know the right hand of this song.

  • OMG I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS SONG FOR LIKE 15 YEARS!!!!!!!!! I heard it when I was a little girl and I never knew what it was called!!!

  • @fallonhadley You're probably actually remembering "A Lover's Concerto" by Toys; the 60s pop hit that was based on this piece... :-)

  • @utubesnamepolsux Actually I had a music computer game when I was a little kid and this was one of the classical melodies they played. It was always my favorite but I never knew what it was called :)

  • well iam impressed actually am practicing on this now and that helps a lot ..............

  • i hate this song too i had to learn it when i was a little kid. aghhhh no wonder i hated piano lessons. good job though... it all starts with minuet, next thing you know, your playing chopin riffs to warm up. power to the piano

  • me encanto...is very very good !!!

  • ugh im practiceing right now the song but i have tiny hands and its hard for me and i cant do it

  • I actually despise this minuet. o:

  • I actually despite this minuet. o:

  • great job great job and thank for bringing back good memories to me

  • Bravo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @robviolin1 be sure to include the grace note, otherwise, AWESOME JOB!

  • Bach did not compose it!

    That's a common mistake.

Check out my version than you know.

  • @ElJay1992 who did?

  • @thehal698

If you were interested you would already have

    checked out my version.

Hint: It's a baroque composer from Dresden

  • Wow, I used to know how to play this.. not anymore :( haven't played piano in 7 years :'(

  • very

  • good

  • polyphonic

  • nice

  • try

  • welcome

  • very nice!

  • excellente!!

  • 108 people hate the piano or classic music from waaaay back thumbs up if you agree

  • Ive learned the first and second line. i feel proud though no joke.

  • @JizzXpert yeah i felt the same way when i mastered those lines but now i finished the song so i might post a vid

  • @JizzXpert right there with ya!! teaching myself!

  • @JizzXpert Dude me too! I learned it in math class cuz my teacher had his piano out. Great feeling, considering i have never before read sheet music. Just learned the letter for each line and that was it xD Good job though!

  • why does this have so many dislikes? lol it sounds great

  • im playing dis for my first eva grading but its a bit different

  • on the repeat of part B your finger slipped a little bit... that's on 1:16. How ever fair enough playing...

a minuet is a stately dance and for me (because it's a major) it should communicate happiness. I hope you'll consider putting dynamics into it, it is a beautiful simple piece

  • AWESOME JOB! im learning this right now lol.

  • Isn't this Minuet 3?

  • con adorno y toda la cosa? si o ke!! bien ;)

  • It wasn't Bach!

  • @shineyrow

Yeah, well that other guy was a nobody anyway.
