Pontiac engines were niether small or big blocks. they were bigger than a small block but smaller than a big block and were the same size block from a 301 to a 455. Also the heads from a 350 for example would bolt on to a 455, all engine parts were interchangeable.
Nice sounding GTO while cruising, (while taping from inside the car) just like mine was!
Just some unsolicited advice tho, when your engine stalls, just high idle at 2500 RPM, revving up with quick release back to idle just promotes more loading / stalling, and fouls your plugs. Your driving is good!

Yea something not right, once the tires were spinning, it couldent keep em going, might be hi gearing too though, pontiac motors usually have a lot of low end torque though. I went through about 6 GTO,s in the 80's dragging and finally got tired of rebuilding the engines, somehow #6 rod bearing always seems to go, switched to BBC and never looked back, but I Love GTO's

Love it! I bought mine for 400 dollars, all original, canary yellow with black interior. Gay Pontiac in galveston ordered it with a 456 gear, so gas mileage is horrible, but who really cares. I used to be able to get away with the blown out glasspacks because of a grandfathering clause in the law, but no more. thanks for the vid!
