The officials said they got a call from the booth saying it wasnt a catch or some shit. Like it was reviewed quickly and they called it incomplete. It looked really close to me but I guess it wasn't a catch. He should have caught that ball with a bit more ferocity rather than letting it look like warmup tosses.
TO ALL PEOPLE ARGUING THIS WAS A CATCH which it wasn't GO LOOK THE WORDS ABOVE ON GOOGLE AND SEE THE PROVE OF WHY THIS ISN'T A CATCH AND WAS NO NEED OF REVIEW
NOW THAT YOU GUYS KNOW IT WAS INCOMPLETE GET OVER IT!!!!
@SalsaConQueso2 I agree it wasn't a catch, but that sports science thing is just annoying. They spend 90% of the video analyzing the shit out of Moore's slap- not whether Evans had his foot down before the ball was out. And then on the best replay angle, they slow it down..then speed it up right at the most important part. GAY.
@med5480 at 0:22 both feet ARE on the ground.. and the ball is all the way out. When Simms says "what a throw by Flacco", right when he says "Flacc", Brown has swatted the ball and it starts to come out right when his left toe is barely touching the turf.
Now, if you know anything about the rule, you'd know that you have to possess the ball all the way through the catch. Evans did not. No catch.
@csmulholland and all Ravens fan that understand the rules and difference between rushing a TD and catching a TD. I take my hat off to you for showing sportsmanship and class.
I'm a ravens fan and came to the conclusion that it was not a catch. Lee Evans had the chance to win the game but couldn't take advantage of the opportunity to win the game. (JUST FALL DOWN AND IT'S OVER). I won't even go into cundiff! He needs to go! Too many times this year he has let us down. You can't make a 32 yard FG? your gone! Sorry but it's businesses bro!
Yeah Patriots haters, stop bitching. That clearly wasnt even close to a catch nevermind having enough evidence to overturn the call on the field. He didnt even get 2 feet down before getting the ball knocked loose, and thats assuming its possesion as soon as it hits his hands.
Ravens fans you should know this rule well. Remember the Bengals game this year? Yes the Ravens were on the favorable end of this rule not once, but twice this season, both times against the Bengals. It sure does hurt when the call does not go your way.
its simple, you have to follow through with possession of the football. clearly it was knocked out, even before he gets the 2nd foot down.. this isnt one of those plays were a freeze frame can prove anything. incomplete pass.. stop with the bullshit...
if the ref had actually reviewed it, it honestly would have been pretty easy to come up with a clear cut decision: 1. the ref watches the HD replay in super slow mo to figure out the exact moment where any part of evans cleat, including the spikes, comes into contact with the turf, 2. he looks to see if evans has been dispossessed at that moment. if he wasnt, its a touchdown, and i would say theres a pretty good chance that he wasnt.
@JacobBecomesIsrael2: so what's the difference with this play to the one with Rob Gronkowski's out of bound ruling? When he clearly have both feet inbound and "total control" of the ball. That would have been a 1st, so it means more time, more possession of the ball for the patriots. Which means, ravens probably wouldn't even have time to make that drive or that lee Evans play.
When I saw the review initially I thought for sure this was a TD. Looking at it here again I think it might not be. Still no excuse for not reviewing it.
Why are people complaining about this play? The game wasn't even over at this point. The Ravens probably would have tied it if John Harbaugh didn't shit the bed by rushing Cundiff out there without calling a timeout.
If one of Brady's receivers does this , its a touchdown. Both feet were down before the ball was pulled out. Exact same play a week ago by one of pats tight ends when pats beat broncos. Ruled touchdown .
You don't become one of the great dynasties in football without a little luck. First the tuck rule, this botched catch, then missing the easy 33 yard FG. Oh well, that's football!
you are correct !!!!!! lee evans just should have caught that pass.....period. he's paid too much money to even drop one pass. and even though i know its unreasonable, if i dropped a burger at mcdonalds i would be fired, and thats minimum wage.
Anyone who thinks that's a touchdown is a ravens fan or hates the patriots. His second foot isn't even down before the ball comes out. It should have been reviewed but it wouldn't have changed anything.
Yeah yeah he didn't have possesion of the ball all the way... bullshit! This is the freaking Mike Pereira rule that has been screwing team after team during the last two years. BULLSHIT!
this should have been reviewed, i mean such a close play with a trip to the super bowl on the line with 20 some seconds left to play and the booth didn't feel it warranted review?disgusting
@fleshrot52 its disgusting that people dont give Sterling Moore the credit he deserves and instead choose to berate the officials who made the correct no call. If Harbaugh thought there was any chance it was a completion he would've thrown a flag. Get over it.
@DaTroof93 it's disgusting that that people don't know that harbaugh can't throw a challenge flag when the play clock is under 2 minutes, and i never said that moore didn't make a good play, and i've never said it was a catch, just that i felt it was a close enough play with enough at stake that you would think they would have taken the few minutes to review it and make certain they got it right
Great defensive play, Evans should've held on to it a lot better, squeeze the air out of that ball. I was going for ravens very disappointing.. should it have been reviewed?? Obviously.
@smokeshit100 It looks that way in real time, but if you watch it in super-slow-motion like they were showing it in the replays on TV you can see that the ball started coming loose just barely before the second foot hits the ground. It's one of the closest calls that I have ever seen in such an important situation, but the refs definitely got it right!
You can see it got knocked loose before his second foot hit the floor #SmhEvans&Cundiff

B.S. Then there should be a rule that any runner has to possess the ball all the way to the ground. Refs r making up the rules as they go.

@baldbadboyz That is a rule. It's called a fumble when you drop it as a runner. Learn football before you get butthurt.
