These statistics are frightening. They'd be even worse without foster care programs. Foster parents often take in children as a means of surviving themselves--more of a job than an act of caring and love. Even those with the best of intentions often end up inheriting kids that have already been severely damaged by previous abuse. Be thankful if you have/had good parents--they're one of life's great blessings.

I wanted to attach a video I did on adoption of homeless youth by gay couples. Was flattered that this was posted as a video response to that. I'll post this comment & then try posting the link separately.
