"Sometimes the hand of fate must be forced!" One of my favorite quotes from the Warcraft franchise. I always keep it in the back of my mind for when I am 'umm'ing and arr'ing' about something so I can tell myself fuck it and go for it!
First, Illidan was born "-Mom, I wanna be a Demon Hunter -Ok, gauge your eyes out -WTF?" Then he met Tyrande "-Hey Tyrande, I got a dick of 40 inches -Meh, I prefer your brother -WTF?" Then he restored the Well of Eternitity "-Look guys, I made this new Well and now we don't have to give up our inmorality -Lock him up for 10000 years -WTF?" Then he got released. "-Look guys, I got the Eye of Sargeras and with it we will destroy the Lich King -Lock him again -WTF?"
i understand that he feals betrayed, he did only what he thought was best for azeroth. he consumed the skull of gul'dan not only because he wantet power, but he could also defeat thicondrius (i think that was his name)
illidan wasnt betrayed he betrayed the night elves by corrupting the well of eternity to get the magic for his own use so they caught him and jailed him for 10,000 years then he was released and destroyed the skull of mul'ganis or whatever and became a demon/night elf
@Eeluum you should read the lore, he actualy did so much unspeakable evil towards his own people that imprisonment and banishment seems a much nicer and tuned down punishment for those acts..
let me just explain by one of his acts, he was responsible for causing the Sundering of the World which sank many islands and swept under water 80% of all the residents from Kalimdor, after all that ended the Maelstorm formed beneath the destruction.
@toxicitzi i'm mentioning WHY he FEELT betrayed. not the horrible acts he commited. He also FEELS betrayed by tyrande but has not given up his feelings for her.
as yet to say, without those evil deeds we wouldnt have all these amazing games to play :D
@Eeluum he didn't felt betrayed buddy, he betrayed the night elves.
warcraft 3 already showed him imprisoned for his betrayal so the lore is there and is viable, you just need to read it to understand what all is about..
I don't care about explaining anymore then this, if you have something against reading the lore Blizzard wrote, the same company that practically Created Illidan fucking Stormrage, you are not worthy of my time sir....
@toxicitzi He DID feel betrayed because the girl he loved actually loved his brother. He thought he wasn´t strong enough to protect his people as his brother could and therefore went to search for more power, so the girl would fall for him.
He went to search for the wrong powers though (skull of gull´dan I believe?) and got called a betrayer by his people because he used powers other than their teachings of nature.
All Illidan wanted to do though was help his people, which went wrong.
@Anonymous2992 I wasn't talking about the Warcraft 3 lore, I said that Warcraft 3 showed him imprisoned which means the lore was already set a long time before World of Warcraft..
and like I said, he didn't feel betrayed, he actually Betrayed all of his night elves people to gain power from Sargeras, the Dragon Crest and finally, a new Well of Eternity which he intended to create..
actually he didnt corrupt anything, he took vials from the well of eternity and attempted to create another one that could destroy the burning legion when the burning legion came back into azeroth.
The naga was once night elves favored by Azhara. They were called highborne. When the Well of Eternity was lost, they were transformed into vile snakes. Azhara was the queen old. The ruler of the highborne. She consorted with sargeras and the burning legion long ago. She was once a night elf queen but became transformed along with her followers.
When War was over Well of Eternity was destroyed [consumed by Well's Magic]. Power of all Night Elves was lost... but Illidan after Well's end was taken a few little bottles with water from Well. He want change some lake into a new Well [for good of all Elves], but others [even his brother] appreciate that as wrong decision. Others Elves attacked Illidan and in rage Illidan killed some of them. His brother - Malfurion - immobilized him. Illidan was prisioned and you know what happends later :)
Illidan was fighting aginst Burning Legion in First War. He was a skilled sorcerrer using the power of the Well of Eternity. When Tyrande choiced his brother - Illidan was plan to defeat Demons by himself [sabotage the Portal in Zin-Azshari [Night Elven Capital]]. He pretend a demon's ally. Sargeras - Lord of Legion burned his eyes and multiple his power [his tattoos is a Magical Sign], also Archimonde has that tattoos too. Illidan always want to do good. But others doesn't understand him... :(
Hm.. Illidan was a demon hunter from the start.. he was in prison.. and.. Arthas asked for his help.. trying to take a sort of.. power .. so.. he was more like a Demon hunter , and became sort of a .. Evil druid , I guess?
the opening text came a section of "Let Speak The Heavens" by stephen crane. III Betrayer, In truth, It was I who was betrayed! Still I am hunted, Still I am hated, Now my eyes see what other cannot; That the hand of fate must be forced! Now go forth, My demons of doom, And unleash chaos; Upon all those, Who shall oppose us...
Once an unusually gifted Sorcerer, the extent of his powers today are difficult to classify, due to his powers increasing in large bursts as a Demon Hunter, Sorcerer, and having absorbed the powers of the Skull of Gul'dan.
His pursuit of power and arcane mastery has led him to commit a number of horrific acts against his own people and the races of Azeroth, including defecting to Sargeras during the War of the Ancients and creating the second Well of Eternity. For his actions, he was imprisoned for ten thousand years, until his release almost a decade ago.
Illidan was a Night Elf Rogue, who wanted to be a Druid like his brother, Malfurion. You can tell Illidan is a Rogue, because, he is able to Duel-Wield the Warglaive's of Azzinoth, only Warriors and Rogues can Duel-Wield. Also, Illidan (from looking at him) is not wearing any Mail or Plate armour. Although Illidan is no longer a Rogue, he is instead a Demon Hunter... fuck me that was sad.
Sorry to argue your point but he was never a rogue. I was trained from birth to be a Demon Hunter since he did not have the ability to become a druid.
Illidan Stormrage, known as The Betrayer, is currently the self-proclaimed Lord of Outland, ruling from the Black Temple. He was born a night elf, and as stated by Maiev Shadowsong, is now "neither demon nor night elf, but something more".
You cannot tell Illidan is a rogue. Illidan wasn't patient enought to become a druid. He was a mage who got more and more interested in the magic of the Burning Legion after Lord Xavius "manipulated"(don't know how to call it else) Illidan.
I bet he quickly learned how to handle the glaives when he got them but he is not a rogue and he wasn't trained to be a Demon Hunter. He is a dark magic using mage who can handle the glaives, and he had always had bad luck ...
@roryos illidan is a demon hunter who used the war glaives of azzinoth, i belive his name was azzinoth... anyways no he was not a druid, but yes he was a night elf :)
I have got this game

The Nagas are indeed powerful and cunning adverseries whose martial prowess and magical ability has been honed for thousands of years.
Undefeatable at sea, with the strenght of a tauren and as magically strong as the exiled highborne...
Just a shame blizzard turned them into little more than a 'vermin infestation' in WoW :(
