YOU are my tutor. The others don't teach like they should, they just show u beats but they dont tell u when to hit something, etc. Love ur videos, I've learned a lot from you, since the beginning when I brought my drum hit, I saw one of ur videos and since then I've been learning A LOT. And also u r a funny person, u make ur lessons more fun. Keep up the good work! =)
@theDAMNEDproductions That isn't important lol. There are new drummers every day and this and many other videos of ellaskins witl help them. Now I dont need these videos but thanks to him I could get to what I have archieved.
Greetings from Spain, I do appretiate your effort and it is very nice from someone like you to do this for others on their free time, much better than the idiots who spend their free time complaining about your videos!
hay man im a9yrs old just got the kit a week ago!!!
im 4m pakistan and am loving ur tutorials .....THANX ALOT MATE!!
it has helped me learn alot!!!!... reli appreciate what ure doin!....
btw i would love to learn more bout 1)how to play in timings! 2)how to learn to play apart 4m ur videos..i mean what do u suggest i do other than what u tell us to do?!
dude. im an intermediate drummer thats always trying to learn. although i am a pretty itermediat drummer i want to comment on your vids. loud and raw but a great thing your doing. keep it up!
thanks for that, the person i got my drum set off said not to lift the hi-hat up when i do it, but this is before i've watched this video so i dont exactly know, but ive just learned the basic rock beat normaly ill try this untill i ace this also (: thanks.
do you know what the clutch is? If you untighten the little wing nut on the hihat clutch, you can adjust the height that the top hihat sits at, which will let you move the gap in between the two hihats smaller so your foot doesent hit the floor
hey jonathan ive been watchin ur dj tutorials n ive been makin my own beats but i cant find any good high hat beats.can u post a video of a sick ass high hat solo.that would b awsome n a big help thanks.
lol i played so much gt drums on expert, that i though thats it, i think im interested playing for fun real drums, and now i watch these vids, and listen song diferent way than before, and when playing im using also my lef feet to get use to use hihat too, im planning to by my drums in 2weeks, they are pearls 850euros expensive? also with doube pedal.. just for fun.
gt drums just gave the interest and some idea of rythm how to use legs same time,
i bought other ones, more expencive ones, pearls visions 765 euros (just drums) then i bought paiste symbals with some highquality stands and double base pedal and chair, all of those like 1300euros, but i got them in 1100euros.
what do you think, i dont got them in here right now, but snare was silver and they said its very good, i check thats name later. it feels bit uncomfortable that hihat has to be so right, and by double base pedal takes so much room of position of hihat im so amateur :D
good one i myself have played for well over 14 years now and i think its very important to show cats about opening up that high hat when i started earlier on i used to just really avoid doing much with the high hat other than tapping it closed it limited me in some ways but it also made me rely more on fills and just really keeping my meter steady but now i use the shit out of it got a bunch of disco songs now
Grand. Simply put for the newest of players. You taught me an incidental lesson here: Learning a beat by thinking of it in terms of "moves". Great attitude, as well. Thanks, mate.
yea lot of people really r not getting that this is for beginners n ive ben playing 20 yrs now u know why i watched bc i wanna be a better teacher as well. i thought his approach was great in explaining how to play the rock beat n there is no right or wrong way to play i know pro drummer that hold n play sticks and technique looks wierd or sometimes bad but you would never know if u just heard the audio u can always learn something from someone no matter what the skill levelor else u a knowitall
dude i know how to play the drums.. but if i was a begginer, u had be a very very good teacher. u teach slow and simple. ur videos are very good for begginers. good job mate!
You don't need to hit the hi-hat when you're closing the it. The closure makes the 'hit'. At least, that's how I was taught. It helps avoid potential cymbal flams. Well . . . dif'rent strokes, I reckon.

man, i wish i had you whne i was first playing drums. Your not like a music teacher that is really boring. And i had trouble putting snare, hithat, and bass together to make that beat whne i first started out. The way you explained it would have been so much better
it dusnt matter if ur drums sound bad it aint a waste of tym either u have reely teached me anything cuz ive bin playing the drums 4 about 2 yrs soo. yea. can u make a video of a drum solo im kinda curious of wut ur fully capable of on the drum set
i hate how you never count correctly you should really learn how, at least learn how to count, and if you really wanna do something thatll help you, learn how to read
Hey thanks for these tutorials, they're the most helpful I've found so far. I'm a girl just starting out & I found this one especially helpful! I set up my laptop by my kit & run through all these & practice. :o) Thanks again!
I've been playing for 20yrs and I must say that you are awesome. There is much more to playing the drums than parradiddles and technicalities. Music is all about listening. The most important part of a kit is your ears. You put this across wonderfully. Judging from these comments you are helping out loads of fledgling drummers out there. You should be proud! Keep up the good work.

Thankyou once again, can you possibly make videos in the future that are more complicated beats? If so reply to me on my profile. Thanks i enjoy whatching your videos and im learning.
You have helped me, although I have been drumming for three years now. I love your enthusiasm and your "step by step" approach to drum teaching. Good work! Mate. Thanks!
