  • Love it!

  • Classic.

  • Gee, thanks for explaining the joke, I never would have got it.

Humour is always much better when someone explains it.

  • haha XD this is amazing. this is what happens when you meet The Beatles.

  • Absolute tour de force.

  • Piss funny stuff this, though personally I could listen to George Martin talk about the Beatles until the cows come home!!

  • This is so great.

  • Believe me, if I worked with the Beatles, they would be all I could talk about too. Them and Jimi Hendrix.

  • -Do you think your release represents a positive shift in attitudes towards the West?

-Well, I never really understood all the criticisms against Ringo's drumming...

    hahahah fucking brilliant

  • Big Train is sheer genius. Matthews and Linehan are comedy writing legends. Father Ted + Big Train = two of the best comedies of our generation

  • u just cant seem to shut him up lol

  • Love it.

  • Big Train>everything else in creation

  • That was my favourite big train sketch

  • Normally this type of lampooning is embarrassingly 'not funny'; this, however, is funnier than hell! Love it-

  • Oh i see it's a play on george martin constantly going on about the fucking beatles

  • LOL

  • classic

  • Looks like Jared Harris (MAD MEN).

  • my favourite big train sketch ever. apart from the cockneys of course.

  • LOL Beautifully done :)

  • Yep,'the actor Kevin Eldon' is a genius.

  • "Were you ever afraid for your life?" ".. well the Beatles certainly never took drugs in front of me" Haha. Classic.

  • @HardcoreFlea - funny how that's actually kind of related to the question....

  • Yeah it is. The pause after he says 'well' made it for me too.

  • @HardcoreFlea I NEARLY PISSED MESELF THE FIRST TIME I SAW THAT BIT

  • easily one of the funniest comedy sketches ever!

  • hahaha very nice!

  • This is so very, very good.

  • The voice is so close. Funny indeed.

  • "...Strawberry fields, I could go on. Absolute tour de force" lol!

  • well the beatles certainley never took drugs in front of me.....

  • Is this the same guy that was in the 'Sticko' advert?

  • @pauloutten they're all played by the same actors and actresses ..

  • @ted5529608 Yes I know, it was just this guy I couldn't work out whether it was one of the usual gang or not.

  • Genius! Does anyone know where I can find the 'Hall & Oates' sketch, other than purchasing the DVD odviously. Thanks.

  • I could listen to him all day

  • Where this sketch originated

    watch?v=Rb9mn6YeQMY

  • best sketch on show. more effective wen its split up

  • Eldon is a as blinding as ever. Such a smart character actor. Sadly when he does serious you can't take for it, he's too funny. Doing Martin with such accuracy is class.

  • is it just me or is Patrick Swayze's head far to big for his body ?

  • Genius skit from genius show - ended far too soon.

  • It's one of the best and most ingenius sketches from a brilliant series. Before I saw this sketch, I had already thought that George Martin seemed to talk about The Beatles ad nauseum in interviews, despite the fact that he had produced many other interesting artists. So seeing this just had be in stitches.

  • But don't you feel that the sketch trivialises some very serious issues. Like the break up of the Beatles for instance?

  • that was over 35 years ago, to be fair

  • a band breaking up is not a serious issue.

  • ha!

  • lol, superb.

  • the kidnapers made a huge mistake...let him with his mouth free! i had a real laugh.

  • One of the best ever sketches.

  • I like the rostrum cameraman work.

  • Brilliant. so bizarre, and brilliant performance from Kevin Eldon. I agree him and Mark Heap are the best two comedy actors in the UK at the moment.

  • Hahaha, brilliant!

(I saw George Martin today! :D:D:D:D:D)

  • Wow! that was funny, I was laughing on this one too. That was well made. That's George all right. He can go on and on about the Beatles.

lol that was so well made and funny. :)

    I agree with peacelovebeatles.

  • Lmao. This is so frickin' funny.

Who ever thought this up is a genius XD

  • Absolutely hilarious !

  • It would be a a great thing for me to be imprisoned with George Martin. But like Paul he does tend to have about 30 stories that he tells ALL THE TIME.I would like to ask him about some of the more obscure stuff.

  • the (other) great thing about this sketch - I've always thought - is you can absolutely imagine its genesis: a couple of them sitting watching the tv at which George Martin is *again* going on about the Beatles and wondering if that's all he ever does and to what extremes he would continue to do it. The really good writers don't just have good ideas but know exactly how to spin them out, then execute them. This could have been predictably dire and boring but is consistently hysterical.

  • He speaks a bit fast for George Martin

  • Too funny. :D

  • Kevin Eldon is the 2nd best comedy actor in Britain! (behind Mark Heap) - in my opinion. Top stuff.

  • But it's true, George Martin has not only been talking about the Beatles, he's been making money with re-releases of old material for the last 40 years.

  • this reminds me of the stolen newsreader from monty python, check it :)

  • I thought that the Fourmost, Billy J Kramer and Cilla Black worked with Brian Epstein not George Martin?

  • George Martin produced tracks for Brian Epstein acts including Gerry and The Pacemakers, The Fourmost, Cilla Black, Billy J. Kramer and The Dakotas - as well as many other performers of course.

  • That was meant to be a reply to a much earlier comment.

  • LOL same voice and tone throughout the whole kidnapping XD

  • this is hilarious, 5 stars

  • guy: mr martin, we were afraid for your life!

mr martin: well, the beatles certainly never took drugs in front of me...

    HAHAHA!

  • I never understood the critisism about ringo's drumming...!

  • absolute tour de force as far as I'm concerned

  • lol

  • Love it when he pulls him out from the bottom of the van! Classic stuff!

  • lolloloollo

  • full of his own **** this portrayed him really well

  • It's like its the only thing he ever did and does.

Everytime he needs a new caravan, he remixes the Beatles stuff and brings out another compilation of Beatles stuff.

  • quality best sketch ive seen for a while

  • what is funny about this...?

  • The joke is the casual observation the famous Beatles produce Sir George Martin never seems to stop talking about the Beatles. This is humorously illustrated in depicting Martin in extreme circumstances where one would think the Beatles would be the last thing on his mind. Yet, he still talks about them no matter what. Of course when you're up against Lennon and McCartney..your work is cut out for you.

  • quality post

  • @starrynightuk THANK YOU FOR EXPLAINING AND THUS RUINING THE JOKE. :)

  • @armandbourgoignie I think the worst part is that 20 people gave it a thumbs up; they are the real villans

  • ah ya ruined the video for me.....

  • @starrynightuk well done for ruining the joke

  • Because thats kind of how he is.

  • LOL!!! This is so funny!

  • Did George Martin really say all those things.

  • Yes he did lol

  • This is nothing short of wonderful. And so true....hahahahha

  • Hysterical! I expected the terrorists to pull off a decapitated head that was STILL TALKING! My brother said, "That wouldn't be BRITISH humour, that would be American ..."

  • No, I reckon we'd do that. George Martin really would keep talking about the effing Beatles regardless of what you did to him.

  • hilarious

  • A classic!!

  • I love this video!!!!

  • simon pegg-i love you!

  • I love him too. But that's Kevin Eldon.

  • Yes he does go on and on about the beatles lol! never really noticed before..maybe he has something to hide something hed rather not talk about!!Cos we dont know much about him do we!Besides he produced the beatles records..you do know that dont you lol!!

  • I hope he sees this observation of how he kinda drones on in an unemotional monotone voice.

  • lol thats hilarious!

  • This is the best thing ever!

  • Type in " George Martin "on You Tube and there is an interview with a US chat host. The impression and the blazer etc is absolutely spot on !!!

  • haha, I was gonna say... that ain't George is it?!

  • Poor Sir George. It really must be painfully surreal always being asked about "the lads"

  • George is at it - again. The pop Knight is de/re-constructing Beatles' songs with his son. Seriously.

Heard a couple of tracks. Frightening! But I hear St Martin of the Beatles will not be commenting on his!?/their latest project. Or one can only hope!

    davidjd

  • When George Martin was told about this video, he shrugged and said, "no one ever asks me about anything else."

  • Ulysses61 says "When George Martin was told about this video, he shrugged and said, "no one ever asks me about anything else."

LOL. Well, that's probably true...I know I myself don't have too many questions about The Fourmost, Cilla Black, or Billy J. Kramer to put to him. :>

  • Beatles Expert?? That's meant to be George Martin - they're producer - the gag being how GM never talks about anything else whenever you see him on tv.

  • WHO ARE THE BEATLES???

  • Im going to assume that you are joking. If not, consider getting out more.

  • Well, Mr. Martin really did adore "the boys". Great stuff!

  • Hahahaha Beautiful

  • Very funny.Beatles forever !

  • I like the part where that guy asks him a serious question about being a hostage, and he responds with

"The Beatles never took drugs in front of me" LOL!!

  • This is the funniest thing I've seen in ages!.

    LMFAO

  • LOL! Excellent!

  • haha! That actor is PERFECT as Martin! :)

  • HAHAHAH! I love the Beatles!

  • that is superb!

  • theblowholes : Geoff Emerick was the engineer for most of their career. George was the producer.

  • Actual Norman Smith was the engineer from the beginning through Rubber Soul (6 albums). Geoff Emerick worked on Revolver and Sgt Pepper, quitting during the White Album sessions. He returned for Abbey Road (total of 3).

  • the expert is really George Martin, the Beatles producer and engineer for the majority of their career.

  • LOL that was great

  • LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL I love them and Simon Pegg's in there, classic showwww,

  • great vid!!

    <3

    whats it from?

  • It's from the UK sketch show, Big Train.
