The music and sounds on the Genesis were AWFUL compared with the SNES. There were some games on the old 8-bit NES that had better sound than Genesis games.

I did give the Wii a chance. i lined up and bought one of launch day, having loved the Gamecube. But I just saw the lineup trickly into the pathetic stream it is now, and I can thoroughly say I consider it a major disapointment.

If they added Sega CD, Saturn, and Dreamcast games to the Wii, that would be awesome, but it wouldn't make the console itself any better. A lineup of downloadable classic games can't be a replacement for a good recent library, something the Wii doesn't have.

Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega's flagship property, was created in 1991, the same year Super Nintendo was launched in the US. Sonic was packed in with every Genesis console from 1991+, yet makes no appearance at any point during this commercial.

However, the games that are featured were brand new at the time, that being circa 1989-1990. One of which being, Altered Beast, which was the original Genesis pack in game.
