1515232332 Roy Pullen from Jujuy would like to inform the viewers that George Roberts is playing one of the best songs featured in Grieg's "Peer Gynt" suite called "In the hall of the Mountain King", and I think he plays it very well!Keep it up, George!
Single trigger? I wonder what make of Trombone he's playing? Some size bell, but a small shank. He's definately nailing it though, straight down the middle........
Actually that is a single trigger bass. I can say with very little doubt (since I had the privilege of studying with George for a little while) that it is probably a Conn 70h or maybe the Olds P-22 (I think that was the number) those were the horns George spent most of his time on. George played a single trigger for most of his career.
This is the most swingingest I've heard Lawrence Weld Band play, the recordings of the show that are available, the music is corny and Mickey Mousish, this actually was swingin', first time I've heard George Roberts play, my professor used to talk about him some times!
wonder who sponsored this...

I believe he's actually on a Conn 72H, it sure looks like mine. The Remington mouthpiece would also lead me to believe as such.

He's miming guy's, that's why his embrochure's perfect. Small bore, flared bell to 10.0 inch, frosted silver, single trigger closed wrap.... Old's. Cased closed.

this proves that good bass trombone playing isn't just about blasting pedal tones.
even though that is pretty fun.

Are the trombones in the back beating their mouthpieces on their slides because they don't feel worthy? I know that's what I WOULD be doing. :)
