  • the ones at american apparel are genuine leather. that is why they are 50 bucks and are a good investment. they also don't look cheap and fake..

  • @xxamiisaurusxx well this is a nice alternative for people who don't want to drop 50 dollars on a genuine leather pouch.. and plus its fun to make things like these

  • @Str8UPdork yes... I didn't need the zipper foot. Only on intricate materials I do =) and thanks so much!

  • I LOVE this! its so simple. Did you make any with lining inside?

  • @cahbayb I didn't.. maybe if I was making it for someone I would =)

  • Do you know how to make straps for bags (sling bags)?

  • @northernstarlite they have some pre-made in fabric stores.

  • Omg these r so cute! :) can u make a video showing how we can wear and style these??

  • @6732352 thanks hun... u will be seeing these in my future videos for sure =)

  • Btw, what sewing machine do you recommend for beginners?

  • @Mamii2Fiine look for machines within your budget. I would research on amazon or sites w/ reviews. Read the feedback to see the pros n cons before u buy. Get something very basic with a few stitch types and the most for your money... don't be too cheap otherwise u'll get ur money's worth ;)

  • awesome you are so creative!!

  • Omg I love you Anne... I was actually considering buying one of these overpriced pouch clutches from AA or Zara and I'm a poor high school student so youve saved me a lot of money haha. I'm going to make one now THANK YOU SO MUCH so many props for this you're really creative.

  • you make the best diy videos!

  • One

  • You should make these and sell them I would buy own

  • I dont really get the appeal of these...but its still really cool that you made it for ten bucks!

  • Awesome Ann, i love this idea, it is simple yet stylish, furthermore the materiel cost is so affordable. but...since it's hard to find leather yard here...how about floral print cloth or felt? but maybe the materiel won't be as stiff as leather :-(

  • @momokoxmas that sounds amazing! Try the the upholstery fabric with a thick lining... Go for it and tweet or FB me some pics!!!

  • @anneorshine Thanks for inspiring tutorial. Heading to the newly open fabric store with mission tomorrow (^.*)Y

  • Awesome vid! I've been eyeing these for months just refused to pay the AA price! I can't sew to save my life but if anyone is making these please let me know I'd pay for them!

  • Very cool.

  • I loove these! :D Super SUPER cute! <3 xx

  • i m so gonna try to make this pouch.very helpful video :)

  • Love your diy videos : )

  • @livelovelaugh3116 there's nothing creepy about that... you can certainly add more fun to the bag!

  • @anneorshine can laptops fit in that? it's really cute, but i'm afraid that the laptop might fall out..... would it??

  • @belleapril yes... but I would double stitch all sides!

  • Loved the tutorial.

  • Anne, do you need a special needle to sew the faux leather?

  • @SabrinaDA79 I used my regular needle... it wasn't so bad sewing through =)

  • definitely making this ! thank you so much ^^

  • There is no way you can fix those white edges next to the zipper?

I think it makes the pouch look sloopy and unfinished....

  • @SugarGliderGirl Yes... u can use leather glue... I personally don't think it looks bad or noticable.

  • @anneorshine It isn't very noticeable, but I know I would be focusing on that detail a lot. Too much of a perfectionist, maybe... I'm in love with this DIY and as soon as I have the time I'll make my own pouch. :)

Thanks for making the video and for answering my question.

  • @SugarGliderGirl

If you really don't like it, or want the edges to looks like they are turned over. You can sew the leather, wrong side up, to the right side of the the zipper. (Hope that made sense) So then when you flip the leather over so the right side is showing it looks like the edge near the zipper is turned under and you won't seem the seam.

  • @hopefulpotato Thank you. I might prefer doing this instead of the leather glue.

  • @hopefulpotato My needle broke doing it that way b/c I had to sew the material another time to fold in down... but that is also a great alternative if you have a nice beefy sewing machine!!! =D

  • you are so creative!!

  • they look SO neat!!! impressive :D

  • awww man you have the BEST DIY videos every . Seriously I make all your diy videos haha <33 LOOOOOOVE U!
