I just finished mine, and it didn't turn out so good :/ I think the faux leather fabric bought was too thin and it looks weird when I hold it. Oh well I guess I'll try again
I really love watching your videos. especially when you show how to make things by your own. I´m looking forward of what´s coming up next.....no matter what it is ;-))
i love this concept but i think if you had folded the seams when you sew the zipper on it would make the pouch seem a lot more professionally done but other wise such a great video <3 oo and then i thought if you wanted to you could add a magnetic closure if you want to make a cute clutch <3 keep up the great video ann <3
@xxamiisaurusxx well this is a nice alternative for people who don't want to drop 50 dollars on a genuine leather pouch.. and plus its fun to make things like these
Wow! Ur a genius, truly! I wish I had a sawing machine :( great video! U should start am online boutique so I can buy it in all there colors! Hehe thanks love!
The results are look great! Just wondering how you learned how to sew and how long did it take to get good at it? I really want to learn after watching your DIY videos.
WOW you could sell these yourself. and im so going to make myself a couple and change it up a bit and add studs to them. BEST VIDEO EVER. im so excited to make me some !!!
I love how you used faux leather. if it was real, I would be so upset because i really hate the fact that people are abusing animals for fashion and stuff. And I'm trying this!! :D
Amazing!!! That is so great and versatile!! Imagine adding a heavy jewel or metal edging at the top of the pouch and voila!!! It turns into a cute clutch that would cost around thirty or up to hundreds of dollars in store!!!
You didn't tell us the measurement of the length.. did you use the whole 1/3 yard as the length?.. Anyway, love this! I think it would make a cute laptop bag if I add a little bit of padding on the inside :D
wow can this tutorial be any more amazing! i want to make this right now! thank u so much for sharing cause i really wanted to get those bags but so dang expenssive
@itzSophia4eva Yes.. but when you go to the fabric store, they don't go by feet, they go by yards.. which is why she's telling us the measurements in yards :)
Did you find the faux leather at Joann Fabrics?? I couldn't find the colors you bought. I ended buying a brown pleather but I am really loving the colors you picked out. :)
Ok I don't know the how this bag compares to american apparel's but still! Dang if it only costs that much to make, then American Apparel's totally ripping us off! Lol!
this is so cute im always afraid of zippers because i always thought i needed a zipper foot but im not sure. did you do it with or without a zipper foot on your sewing machine???? i always look fwd to your videos crafty and beautiful and stylish all in one :D
@Mamii2Fiine look for machines within your budget. I would research on amazon or sites w/ reviews. Read the feedback to see the pros n cons before u buy. Get something very basic with a few stitch types and the most for your money... don't be too cheap otherwise u'll get ur money's worth ;)
Omg I love you Anne... I was actually considering buying one of these overpriced pouch clutches from AA or Zara and I'm a poor high school student so youve saved me a lot of money haha. I'm going to make one now THANK YOU SO MUCH so many props for this you're really creative.
Awesome Ann, i love this idea, it is simple yet stylish, furthermore the materiel cost is so affordable. but...since it's hard to find leather yard here...how about floral print cloth or felt? but maybe the materiel won't be as stiff as leather :-(
Awesome vid! I've been eyeing these for months just refused to pay the AA price! I can't sew to save my life but if anyone is making these please let me know I'd pay for them!
@anneorshine It isn't very noticeable, but I know I would be focusing on that detail a lot. Too much of a perfectionist, maybe... I'm in love with this DIY and as soon as I have the time I'll make my own pouch. :)
Thanks for making the video and for answering my question.
If you really don't like it, or want the edges to looks like they are turned over. You can sew the leather, wrong side up, to the right side of the the zipper. (Hope that made sense) So then when you flip the leather over so the right side is showing it looks like the edge near the zipper is turned under and you won't seem the seam.
@hopefulpotato My needle broke doing it that way b/c I had to sew the material another time to fold in down... but that is also a great alternative if you have a nice beefy sewing machine!!! =D
I will be going to Joanns tomorrow so I can buy stuff to do this! I love the American Apparel bag, but for some reason I never thought to make it myself, and it is so simple! Thank you for this!
Yep ok. Make me one and send it to me! Lols. Jks. Naw, it does look like a pillow! Ugh. I'm too lazy to get all the equipment. Great video though! Omg. What would be a great idea is that you fill it up with cotton and use it as a pillow! Naw. No. :D Liked!
I cant sew..Can you somehow tell me how you did the other with fabric glue?
