If theres a couple things I like about this version only from looking at it (I still might need to play it) its that the two first DKCs for the GBA have little opening stories cinemas for them and the sound effect for Diddy and Dixie when they first see a boss I mean please don't be harsh on Me just because Iike the fact that they sound more like realistic children mixed with some monkey-like sound when they scream, but I will agree that the music doesn't sound as good *2bcont.*
*Continued* but I will agree the music doesn't sound as good and that the graphics look kind of weird though I'm not sure of the bonus boss at Stronghold showdown thats not in the SNES version is a plus or a minus, anyways I kind of have to agree with everyone about them replacing the real ending from the SNES version to one with Funky droping a bomb or whatever it was on K.rool as he makes his escape, I prefer the ominous ending where the island sinks into the ocean and *2bcont.*
*Continued* I prefer the ominous ending where the Island sinks into the Ocean and K.rool is seen sailing away on a raft and laughs a wicked laugh as Donkey, Diddy, and Dixie watch from a cliff on Donkey Kong Island, I mean the ending to the lost world on the SNES version just tells you that K.rool doesn't go down that easy meaning that he'll be back. Anyways speaking of those intro movies for the GBA versions I wonder why one wasn't done for the GBA version of DKC3, I thought the *2bcont.*
*I'm sorry for how long the comment was I overdid it again I'll understand if anyone hates Me for it* I wonder why an introduction movie wasn't done for the GBA version of DKC3 I mean I thought the story from the manual might have made a nice little cinema but I guess Rare has their reasons. Anyways if you want to play the original version of DKC2 but lack a SNES and a copy of it you can always just download it off the Wii's virtual console (if you have a Wii) if you don't like the GBA version.
I wish that they had done those introduction sequences for the SNES versions of the DKC games like they did for the GBA versions of the DKC games. Then again, despite not having the bonus features, at least the SNES versions have better music, but still, the introductory cut scenes do help flesh the story out a bit more, too.
....... What?? He just sits there and lets those two Kutlesses beat him up? And what about all those Klingers that came down from the rope? lol. I imagined DK getting captured in a different way. Really funny though. xD
They should have spent more time on DKC3. I mean, look at DKC2 for GBA. They really added so many features and well done intro and ending. Instead they had to waste time on new music for DKC3 instead of the extras like in the previous games.
This ROM is actually of the UK version of the game, and I guess it has a different (and if I may say so, better) title screen. At least I think that's it. The folder for the ROM does indeed say UK. More subtley, if you noticed on the menu screens, there was also a language choice on the option's screen, and an N with a ~ above it on the Cheat/Name entry screen.
Why does your title screen look like the cartridge art of Donkey Kong Land 2? In my game, it looks like the cartridge art of the SNES version of Donkey Kong Country 2.

You should see the title screen for the Japanese version.
