There is very little difference between the A230 and this but the A200 features compact flash but it lacks the support for SD. This is bad and good the A230 would be good if it had Compact flash as they are really cheap but so is SD. but the major difference I found is the HDMI output on the 230 this is i believe the reason the 230 is more expensive than the 200 ( if you can get it still)
Yeah, I've had it for over 3 months now and I'm still singing it's praises. I'm saving up for a 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lens now which will really round out the A 200's capabilities.
I bought that lens about 3 months ago. Amazing lens. Not AMAZING in low light, but who really cares, as long as you know the basics of low light photography. good lens. buy it up!
I did look at the D40, but it's only 6.1 MP, the A200 is 10.2 MP. If you have your heart set on a Nikon the D60 is comparable to the A200 but is $100 + more. Another bonus is that Sony lenses are half the price of Nikon lenses and are said to be as good if not better in some cases. All in all I don't think that you'd be disappointed with a A200. There's a lot of bang for the buck here.
can this camera record video??

Nope... I bought it separate. I just wanted the viewer to see what type of media the camera took.

You shouldn't pay any more than $450 (Canadian). The A330 (next generation Alpha) is now going for under $700 so it's a good deal too.

Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor "Quasi una fantasia". Most people know it as the "Moonlight" Sonata or Mondscheinsonate in German.
