Let me conclude on my part on this and say that as a black man myself I certaintly have defied the stereotypes attributed to African-American young men. But unfortunately there are still some who believe that I am still inferior. There are no special rights for groups of people, and so when gov't passes a law that violates property rights, it puts obligations on property owners and gives entitlements to specific group of people (doesn't matter who, could be blacks, could be women, etc.)

Let me conclude on my part on this and say that as a black man myself I certaintly have defied the stereotypes attributed to African-American young men. With that being said any man or woman of science understands that we humans are genetically the same. Intelligence as some psychologist have discovered varies. Im not even American, Im English. Yet even I have studied MLK. It was attached to my Civil rights course in history and let me tell you he was one hell of a man. You can debate forever over what would be his views on current situations but I think we can all agree, he was a brave man, who died for his cause, a righteous cause which shaped race relationships not only the USA but race relationships the world over. @WhyMeMoFo I don't care about any specific people, my point is about the facts. Fact - Civil Rights Act is not a RIGHTS act, it's an entitlement and obligation act. There are no special rights for groups of people, and so when gov't passes a law that violates property rights, it puts obligations on property owners and gives entitlements to specific group of people (doesn't matter who, could be blacks, could be women, etc.)
It is a gov't power grab and it backfires AGAINST blacks.

No business wants to hire blacks - it's a legal threat to the business because it's a government guarantee, and just like government guarantee to banks against bad mortgages and gov't guarantee to banks for student loans, etc., this backfired.

This traditionally comes from crimes committed by said white people some time ago.
That said, white people and black people and everything "in between" are by and large all ignorant.
Regardless of ethnicity, a frighteningly low percentage of people seem to grasp that we are ONE species on ONE finite planet that's already too small.

1) According to whom? 2) Family literacy, lifestyles, nutrition and educational quality have more effect on IQ than standards of living. For example, a black kid raised in a middle class black household usually grows to have a lower IQ than a black kid adopted into a middle class white household. Where they are very very far off from things like Libraries & Schools
Where they are very very far off from things like Food pantries.
In places like New York City & Chicago where alot of Blacks & Latinso live they are often so close to Libraries, Schools & Food Pantries

Well said Cenk. The main difference between MLK and X was 1 choose the non-voilent approach the other didn't. I think the best approach is in the middle. As far as the Democratic party their the moderates now, the Green Party are the liberals. Lastly, black unemployment #s have been misleading since the 80s. Like I said don't smear an entire ethnic group of what you see on television or even where you live. There are tens of millions of African Americans. That accounts for tens of millions of unique personalities and varying circumstances. You can't say "All blacks are doing bad because, look at rap or poverty." For one, don't assume all people of the same ethnic group have the same genre of music and two, understand the historical dynamics of poverty stricken ethnic communities

You do realize that intelligence was culled out of the black community during slavery. Blacks were culled like animals. Strength was the desired trait. In addition, learning to read was forbidden. So, for centuries, blacks were denied education and any intelligent/rebellious slave was killed or sterilized. African Americans were dealt a bad hand, but it has nothing to do with innate genetic predisposition.
