  • i was there =] the release of CSI ambleside =']

  • i used to live in ulverston, can't believe i missed this

  • @Pwecko true m8, the joy is in the lyrics

@tommyslf get a fuckin grip...this is one of the best bands to come out of England, this was prolly just a filler....their own stuff is inimitable

  • ang galeng! yeah!

  • the second song is brill

  • in fact, this is fucking awful. average pub bands are way better than this shite. 2nd song sounds like some untalented teenagers in he upstairs room havin a drunken jam!!!!! crap

  • The average pub band probably play much more often than HMHB. They get more practice. Then again, most pub bands don't write brilliant songs. Nigel Blackwell is a genius, even if he can't sing that well. Try listening to some of the studio stuff. Try Referee's Alphabet, Restless Legs, National Shite Day, Lord Hereford's Knob and the magnificent A Country Practice. Make sure they are the album versions though. It's impossible to tell what they're saying live and the joy is in the lyrics.

  • Wow! Two of my favourite acronyms in a head on collison. SLF & HMHB - SLHMFHB?

  • fucking awful cover. this guy cant even sing. fuck off.....slf forever

  • I don't think you get Half Man Half Biscuit do you?

  • Yeah, but Jake Burns isn't much better lol

Still, the original's better. Long live SLF.

  • @TheThing88 he is a hell of a lot better singer

  • Jake Burns is just about tone deaf. I love his voice, but he can't sing.

  • @TheThing88 its a bit of an over statement to say he's tone deaf . . .especially seeing as he wrote this song.

  • @billydai You don't have to be able to sing in tune to write a good song.

  • @TheThing88 that's true, but if u read what i wrote i actually wrote he's not tone deaf, tone deafness being a hearing disability not a singing disability

  • @billydai Are you seriously getting pedantic about a year-old post on a youtube video? Especially as "tone-deaf" is a widely used slang/colloquial/whatever term to describe someone who can't sing? It's like describing somebody who can't dance as having two left feet: do they actually have two left feet? No, they just can't dance. That's why I misunderstood your post. Don't be so touchy.

  • @tommyslf gotta love the fingers tommy HANX god bless slf

  • all the best... slf forever... seen them 30-40 times and still one of the best live bands on the planet.

  • easily, i have seen them 4 times i am only 18

  • I was there! that was the release of CSI ambleside. That song took me by suprise. My second favorate band covering my favorate.

  • SLF song done superbly by the wonderful HMHB I'd say.

I'm sure Jake Burns and his friends would love to hear one of Britain's finest bands cover one of their songs.

I think it sits quite comfortable alongside the Tiffany cover, both excellent pop songs.

A lovely surprise to hear Reflection In a Flat at the end.

These boys really should be bigger than the Beatles.

Or have a bigger van at least.

    Wonderful stuff,cheers for posting.

  • Stiff little fingers tune done by half man half biscuit...badly..sadly

  • Yes half man covers songs even worse that there own, imho

  • listen to a band you like then idiot and leave HMHB for the rest of us
