Don't mean to make this about you:

I'm talking about the motivation behind those people who throw this one life we get under a bus, for an afterlife they're been promised by a religion. They're in the minority, but they're only a single example of how common religions hinder the world.

That doesn't mean every religious person is a zealot, but that the implications of these beliefs can be serious when they finally meet reality. I know what it's like; I've been a believer, too.

dude, if you have a problem with religion move somewhere thats not in america, our country was found on religion and we are one nation under god, Without god our nation would fail and look at the past 10 years, Obama is the only president to ever say that The United States was not a nation under God and hes had the worst reign of any president. Our nations basic principles were based on the word and laws of god. The only problem religion causes is there are too many hateful anti-religion people.

When a world is young the energy is masculine, expansive, an outward breath, but now it is an inward breath, ingoing and miraculously scientific, moreover it is a feminine age because having a so called perfect world government system in place effectively destroys the masculine ability to have any true power completely. @Phaedron777 Yes, I agree with this. To rise to future challenges we need to promote women and female traits in the decision making mechanisms of humanity. We have had a male-led society for too long, and look where it has got us (would Lehman Sisters have got into such a mess?!). The critical skills of the 21st century have to be cooperation and community building -- not competition and constant, over-zealous risk taking -- and the former are more commonly female traits.

But when women are giving the chance to governthey tend to wear the [persona of men. i.e Hilary clinton who is masculiune to prevent herself from bieng walked on by the men in government. YES we need more cooperation among the sexes but the women need to govern as women which will never happen becuase male domination will always be there, even relgion encourages male domination over women. In order for that to happen something like relgion would hav to go. like in the book Brave New world

@finedosentmatter not true in christianity about religion encouraging male domination, in the bible Sex is totally disregarded in the new testament the bible teaches the trinity about how our spirit soul and body are seperate, our sex is just part of our body but does not determine who we are, Remember Jesus was born from woman and jesus was a man because woman brought sin into the world and Jesus represented Adam because he was the literal son of god. women have extensive authority. it is often authority over the family mostly and authority in the work place minority. will women grant men more authority in the family? and rich women who demand their men to be richer than them has a impact on mens productions? often the young woman has liked the man who is ""productive"". when this young woman picks the artist....as a norm...men will become artists in droves and we will have a shortage on canvasses and paint. will men be blamed again? HAHA

We're ALL in this together (no matter what you happen to believe) & the quicker we all realize it, the better we'll be.

It's the only way i see us surviving.

We all need to learn to have humility, charity for the needy, and love for our fellow neighbor.

You didn't. Those minorities aren't exactly willing to put aside their differences, but we have a lot of responsibility and power via our beliefs. They're not exactly compatible. We obviously share the planet and we're all in this together, but confronting religion is how I show love for my neighbor when some of them start acting like this.

I've been a believer, just as many believers have also questioned their faith.

i'm actually a Quaker but my family is really religous.

i try not to discuss religion too much since i get really angry & depressed since my dad & grandpa died a while ago and i can't stand to think about never seeing them again and them never seeing my grow up.

Plus, on top of that, i barely have any good memories of my dad except near the end.

there's not a day that goes by that i think of blowing my brains out.

i feel like i'm living in a world where it's every man for themselves
